I was thinking of making some moonshine this winter but then I was walking my fenceline and saw a 50 gallon drum half full of shine:hump:. Is there any test to make shure its safe? I took a mason jar full probly wont take anymore just incase it my its the guy who lives next door, lol over a mile away. Any moonshiners with some good recipes on here?

my mate's girls dad makes it with almonds and another with some grain. It's excellent and is like what a bong is to alcohol.

way to test? drink a mug and hold your hand in front of your eyes. if you can still see it in 30 minutes, repeat :) I brew beer. its easier and less explosive :)

i wouldn't drink it. he could have pissed in it. or worse didnt make proper cuts and you drinking posion.

i make a sugar head wash with sweet feed as the grain, that makes a nice rum type flavor at 90 proof.

the highest proof that i can get out of my still has been 185 proof (cant drink that thou until you cut it down)

simple and cheap and ferments out in a week or so

The hairs are standing up on the back of neck just reading the word moonshine...I used to get it once a year from West Virginia. It would kill me now though, I have trouble with bud light these days.

No want gonna try drinking it I was thinking more along the lines of hash, but it worked wonders on my bong and to get my potbelly stove started in the middle of the night.:clap:
maby if I ever get set up ill do a shine journal.

It turns out the guy I bought the house from was an ex coal miner and moonshiner I found an old burnt out still a few 55 gallon drums, lol guess it came with the house.

I took a shot of mooonshine once and then i was breathing fire afterwards. it tasted like liquid cocain

Less explosive is a misconception. I distill 55 gallons at a time an the only thing that can go wrong is having the wort on too high of a boil or the propane tank has a leak. It is dangerously hot however and on the other end of the still is an open end.

I have a cpl qts of apple pie shine in the fridge. I got qrt at a biker rally, and one from my daughter-in laws friend. I dai have a qrt of pineapple and red apple but shared them with friends and they went quick.
