Monster Cropping with Damnesia

I've not posted on here in a while so I figured it was time to start a new journal. I've been reading up on monster cropping and it just really intrigues me, I cut the clone about a month ago off my damnesia from strain hunters. So far it's showing to be worth it, she's a little bush already with nodes popping up everywhere and just keeps growing. I finally got a ph meter and some ph up and down, why that took me so long I'm not sure but she should appreciate having ph balanced nutes. I'm also switching from leds for flowering to a 1000 watt hps, I've used nothing but leds for the past year and I'm just really curious how the hps will change up my quality. I'll try to keep this thread updated instead of dragging ass like I have on a couple others. I'm also starting to do a few mother plants and just cut clones, then order random seeds and if I find one I like more than the mothers I'm gonna have going then I'll swap those out

That's one little monster

Thanks man, it took her an extra week and a half or so to root up since she had to revert back to the veg state but it's looking to be worth the extra waiting period. The mother I cut the clone off of I vegged for a very short time just to see what she'd produce as a small plant. Just letting her naturally grow (no topping or anything) she was at 12" tall and I had to cut her down 2 weeks early but she still produced an ounce trimmed and dried so I can't wait to see what she can do when I let her go all out

I did a lot of research on lighting before I ever started growing and decided LED would be my best bet. I've still got my panels, 1 chinese panel that pulls about 380w and then my area 51 xgs-190. I've been very satisfied with the results from both panels, the chinese panel actually keeps up with the area 51 at about $200 less, I'm just interested in trying out hps. I'm keeping my LEDs and there's a good chance I'll still use them for additional lighting eventually. I'm am intrigued by Dr. Whos' post about having them on periodically thru out the day, I've not really thought about it but it definitely makes sense and I'm gonna have to try it out. That's more of why I grow is to just try new things and try new strains. I'm constantly getting seeds from different strains rather than sticking with a few, I wanna try 'em all! haha

Gave the bushy bitch a trim today and pinned everything back to help her bush out more. I've also got some white strawberry skunk going that I was planning on mainlining but the spacing between the nodes is so short that it's more of a pain to pin 'em down than I feel like dealing with so I'm just planning on topping it again and letting her do her own thing.

So I'm interested in peoples preferences on "soil" mixes, I've been using fox farm ocean forest which works good but I was thinking about getting a bag of worm castings but I'm not sure what the mix should be. Just throwing it out there to get some ideas and go with the one that sounds like my cup of tea

I use ocean forest also so I can't help you. The earth worm castings I use to brew Bennie teas. Works killer.

Where to start, got my 1000 watt hps setup yesterday along with a larger 4x4x6 tent for flowering. Then today I went to the grow shop we have here with the intention of only gettting a new bulb for the hood and ended up leaving with the bulb, an extra bag of soil, more nutes, and then everything to do a bubbleponics setup. I've been a busy little bee today with swapping out the bulb in the hood and then getting my bubbleponics setup going. I feel like I've accomplished a few things today, so now it's time for a little update on the girls. The damnesia that I monster cropped responded pretty well to the haircut I gave her. I plan on continuing to veg her for a little longer but during the day I'm throwing her under the hps to help get her acclimated to the higher intensity light and hopefully get a little more stretch out of her before she goes into flowering. Just by chance I had a Pineapple Gum I'd just germed in a jiffy cube that'd already broken the soil and is popping right up and the rockwool cubes I got have a hole in the center of them the exact same size as the jiffy cube (I didn't plan that by any means, I just happen to grab the cubes made like that) so she's got thrown into the bubbleponics. I plan on starting another journal just for her since this is the first hydroponic grow I've ever done so any advice is more than welcome

Momma was done flowering probably a month ago and she's pretty damn good. I had vegged her for a short time and threw her into flowering while she was still small just to see what she'd produce. When all was said and done she was only about 12" tall and I had to cut her down 2 weeks early but still produced an ounce dried and cured so I feel confident that this little bastard is going to do pretty well in flower.

well it's been a hot minute since i've posted, been sick then dealing with an abscessed tooth kept me occupied along with taking care of the girls. The damnesia is 15 days into 12/12, cut a bunch of clones off the white strawberry skunk, and germed a blueberry gum. I've also got a damnesia seed germing right now for a mother plant and should pop by tomorrow. I've not taken the time to snap any pictures yet but I plan on doing so tomorrow after work. Upgraded my magnetic ballast with a nice dimmable digital one, chunked the plastic storage bin I was using for my bubbleponics setup and bought a few 5 gallon buckets for easier moving and cleaning. Hope everyone in the rollitup circle's doing good and growing some dank smoke! Time to pop another hydrocodone, smoke a bowl, and pass out for the evening

I kinda do a "Subcool's" version of soil mixing. I only post it here bc of the ratios of bag-soil to EWC's.
I hope this helps:
  • 8 large bags of a high-quality organic potting soil with coco fiber and mycorrhizae (i.e., your base soil)
  • 25 to 50 lbs of organic worm castings
  • 5 lbs steamed bone meal
  • 5 lbs Bloom bat guano
  • 5 lbs blood meal
  • 3 lbs rock phosphate
  • ¾ cup Epson salts
  • ½ cup sweet lime (dolomite)
  • ½ cup azomite (trace elements)
  • 2 tbsp powdered humic acid
