Monster Cropping Increasing Yield

Try this "technique" at your own risk...Here's a plant which was cloned in a flowering state when it was discovered that it was the last of its kind and should have been saved rather than put to flower. It's bushy, alright. Unfortunately it never came back to normal. It's half flowering all the time, produces clones which are all semi-flowering dwarves now, the structure of the bud has gone to fluff, flavour is weak and you can't really account for stretch anymore since there isn't any. The whole plant has been altered, and not for the better.
In the month and a half it takes for a flowering clone to start picking up steam, you could make one hell of a bushy plant from a standard clone that can grow unhindered from the beginning of its life.

This is after a whopping 4 1/2 months of (re)veg time. I should have a tree...

Thanks for your input! Your info is more than most have given with this technique

Thanks man. That's what I was kind of seeing as well. If your goal is bushy plants, there are faster, more effective and safe techniques. I don't really see any reason to do this unless it's a last ditch effort to save a strain.

Yup, thats what I was thinking. Thanks for confirming :)

I plan on keeping bonzi moms. I am flipping to flower next week. I will be taking 2 cuttings of the best looking plant at the time (3 weeks into flower). The branching should give me a lot more places I can get clones from.

freddie i dont see your point here. these plants were cut from plants at 21 days into flower on may first and these pics were taken on august first. perhaps you did something wrong?
I've done it before without issues, but this plant decided to never come back. I'm not trying to be the authority on the subject, but I wanted to warn anyone thinking of trying this that if it happened to me, it could happen to you. I can see it's working for you, I'm just not sure why anyone would incorporate this into their regular routine. I've always had the best results with a plant that is allowed to grow unhindered throughout it's whole life. Do you do this every time in your garden?

I don't know how I would have done anything wrong, I just rooted a clone and put it back into veg. She went from being long and lanky to scrubby and bushy and won't come back.

I couldn't tell you, but rather than take a clone late in flower I would probably try to re-veg. As long as the root ball was looking healthy and not too cramped I would use it to my advantage.

got given two clones from a mate..named them mary and martha  they were on a 24hr photoperiod and about 3inches wen i got them.he said to jus chuck them outside and they would bud out coz at the time i had no lights or bud:lol:... after a couple weeks on my window sill i noticed they were starting to bud...well they finshed budding at around half afoot tall and i thought well fuck!?:-? im gonna harvest like a quarter oz?.. if that!? so i decided to repot and see what happend if i let them do there own thing..it started out with heaps of weird one and three leaf growth then slowly back to normal.i ended up supplementing the sunlight with a 400w mh wen they flowered and it seemed to help heaps.. the buds were dense and hard.yes they were bushy as fuck and had multiple colas everywhere!!:hump: here are some pics i took along they way...all my mates used to crack up wen they saw them on the sill..but wen they were 3.5ft tall and all bud it was a different story:joint::joint::joint::mrgreen: it all took like ages!!! about 6 moths if i remember..i got 5 oz dry weight off both and it was sum dank sticky shit..my new grow is waaaaaayyyy better!!! i am jus working out all my photos!! I ran out of space, so I started an outdoor stealth grow, and put them on 12/12 because of they're limited space. I plan on trying to reveg them to be used as mothers...I hope it works out...

Accidentally did Monster Cropping when I took clones off of the last batch (at 3 weeks flower) and they grew like bushes. Works great and can't wait to intentionally work this into the SCROG.!

huh...so perhaps it only works for specific strains? Does anyone who worked this method successfully know what strains of Cannabis they had? Indica, Sativa, perhaps Ruderalis or Afghanicas...? Oh and hybrids as well?

I love this technique, it is the shit for filling up scrog screens or for keeping size manageable. Uncle ben is completely right about a bunch of smaller buds rather than one large cola, but that is the entire point of a scrog! I took these at about 2 weeks into 12/12, maybe next time I'll wait an extra week and see how that works.
I think "monster cropping" is a crappy name though. Some one needs to think of a better one.

I've done this with many diff types of cannabis you just have to pull a clone when there is just a little bit of bud forming..then when it reverts there is no leading brach/cola so the plant basicly freaks and shoots alont of branches from that spot..Now this doesn't work EVERY time sometimes you get a few braches sometimes it works awsome and youll get 40 but its not 100% reliable to get 30 braches like the pic show above but you will get more than normal everytime be it 5-10

I'm thinking the further into 12/12 you take the clone, the more branching you get
