I had my soil covered, It has only been 3-4 days since I made the supersoil, I just lifted the tarp to see if I should water the pile and its covered, I mean COVERED in mold, what can I do, is this soil ruined for a while, how does it work, HELP!!

PREVIOUS POST: my first organic soil mix and a few questions, thx!

Bail of dirt ( 3.8 cu.ft. ) ( major component: Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss (70-75% by volume), Perlite, Dolomitic and Calcitic Limestone, wetting agent, Mycorrhizae )
about 1.5 cu.ft. dirt from my compost

2.5 lbs Guano ( roughly half of a 2.2kilo bag )
5 lbs Flower Power mix from Welcome Harvest Farm 4-10-4 ( fish meal, bone meal, greensand, canola seed meal, langbeinite, kelp meal, rock phosphate )
2.5 lbs Fish & Crab from Welcome Harvest Farm 8-5-1
2.5 lbs Neem Cake 4-3-2

about 100ml tea compost mixed with water that I pored on the pile of super soil after I watered it.

To come: 30liters of castings worm and 2 tbsp Humic Acid

and Thats it!

Now the Super soil is sitting on a tarp, Should I cover it or leave it expose to the sun? it will be sitting there for 30+days.

add all your ingredients get a soil PH tester let the mix sit covered in a warm area for 30 days. then check that the ph is stabilized by checking the soil over the last week to see if the reading is the same when it is stable and in the range you want its ready to go

I hope I hope I dont have to make another batch! Should I just mix the mold in the pile and not cover it this time... hopefully by the time I use the soil that mold is gone..

let your dirt air out, give it a big stir, and spread it out thin on the tarp.
are you sure its mold?
Mycorrihizae looks like a fine white mold, here is a pic i found.

i know that a fine white "web" of Mycorrhizae is known to show itself when cooking SS, i can only hope that is what you found.

pictures speak 1000 words.

if its mold its ok its just breaking down the organic material in a month the soil will dry anyway dont leave it uncovered it will slow down the process

I think it is definitely mold ... may be not as much as I thought at first but it still all over the pile, .. should I remove the big clumps of mold or just mix it all in now and leave it to air out... I was only on day 4 of cooking process so still lots of time... I am so worry that the mold will stay in the soil and will only show up half way through my crop! Anyone had the same problem before? Thanks

that looks like its the benis activating, if that is indeed the case. You should be happy they are doing so.

What you are seeing is a web of fungal hyphae. Google it.

This is a very good thing. Your soil is coming to life. Don't mix it or you will break the delicate microscopic chains that are developing within your soil. Just let it cook like sub said, you are well on your way to growing the elusive and mystical, DANK.

Enjoy the show, its just about to start. :hump:

So do I cover it again then? When is a good time to mix it? I heard people say you have to move the dirt around every week?

I just got back from home depot... got a few more items for my grow room, I ll update my post in the grow room section once its installed, I just got a PowerAir fan for the intake and some piping to hook it to the upstairs of the house,... I have a good feeling about this crop, better air control/quality, better soil, better seeds, better light for flowering! I ll keep you posted, thank you all for the answer.

Wait a second. This recipe is nothing like the subcool super soil. Where did you get the recipe from? Is it any good? do you have a link?

Never tried it, like I said, its my first organic grow ... second time growing only ... I will keep you all posted! The guy at the local hydroponic store kind of helped me create it..! but since I dont know nothing, ... you can say that is his recipe. thanks again for the answers. I will probably keep this post going and the other one in the grow room setup and design section for the full crop! You can take a look at my grow room in the other section, I am happy with the result so far ... just waiting a few item through the mail to finish it up!
