Hi All,
The heat is finally gone and we have a cool breeze blowing. The girls (and guy) have been loving the heat and the multiple daily waterings. The big clone is not showing any additional signs of distress from losing a branch. The leaves are still turning yellow on the bottom but everything else looks healthy. The buds are really starting to fill in the branches. Still no smell except when you rub the stems and get the sweet "old spice" smell.

how often and how much are you feeding this mean girl?!?
Feeding every day up until a week ago when I started to get some tip burning. I have been using GH Flora Nova Bloom and now 0-10-10 Bloom.

Will she finish before winter?

I don't know - I have not grown a pure Sativa outdoors before. I have always heard Christmas was harvest time.

Hi All,
The big clone has been growing outside for 160 days! I am trying to determine when it was first considered flowering. It may have been as early as August 8th, which would put us at a little over 8 weeks flower; or it is as late as Sept 4th, which puts us right at 4 weeks flower. 8 weeks flower puts us at the harvest date (16 weeks) of - SURPRISE - Thanksgiving! 4 weeks puts us at a harvest date of Christmas.

She is starting to fade fast and the Fall weather is starting to speed the process. The selective pollination may also change the finish time. We will see. They are all definitely starting to bulk up.

I have learned that you can take a cutting (preferably from the lower part of the plant) and just stick it in soil. Out of the 20 I have tried this with, only one died, and that was from pill bugs eating it. Keep them partially shaded for part of the day for the first week (or more). You will start to see them thrive and that is when you can put them in the sun. Make sure the soil is good - drains well but keeps moist. Lightly feed them with grow nutes and cal/mag and water daily. You should mist the leaves with pH 5.7 water (same as rain) to keep them happy because they are providing all of the power to the plant and they are getting no help from roots.

If you cover your plants during the day you can make them flower (light deprivation). Some people do this by keeping the plants in small (19 L) pots and moving them inside every day - see Nugbuckets Lab thread.

i<3 the Green - I feed her Snickers, Big Mac, and wash it down with a supersize coke. Want to get her nice and fat!

Just kidding hehe

I fed her GH FloraNova Bloom, Cal/Mag, Copper (to offset the zinc in the trashcan), AN Jungle Juice Micro, Molasses, and Phosphoric Acid to lower the pH of my hose water. Water is kept in 5 gallon buckets for 24 hours to blow off the Chlorine. Lately she has been getting just molasses, acid, and GH Bloom.

Mother Nature giveth and she taketh away! It rained this morning and broke some branches on the Micro Clone in the WOG. I staked them up and they seem like they might be OK. The Big Clone was already well staked and fared better with some minor bending from the wet bud weight. When I staked up the WOG I got covered in fresh Ice Water resin. Smelled great like cedar and I got to view the big colas up close - WOW. Then the sun came out and dried up all the rain so the itsy-bitsy spider went...where was I, oh yeah:

And then it really got interesting - we had a deluge of flash flood proportions. It just fell out of the sky in one big crash, and then it sounded like a freight train for twenty minutes!

The next bit of weather after this storm is the Santa Ana winds that come out of the desert - hot, dry, and hard! I need to get more stakes!

Soggily,

The Malawi Mom's birthday was February 10th.

The Big Clone was the top I removed from the indoor Mom on April 13th and put outside on April 29th.

The Micro Clone and Flower Clone (Wall Of Green) were planted on May 3rd and May 9th.
