"Mod Awarded Badges"

I think a large stock of mod awarded badges would be very helpful. Make it so reviews can not be self requested but members have to be nominated by other with a thread dedicated to other members input.
I.e. I would like to nominat @Tracker for a trusted trader badge, his seed trade page has multiple conformation of honest trades and explained to me in a pm he assumes all risk of trades by offering to send his share first https://www.rollitup.org/t/trackers-share-trade.1089076/

I appreciate the kind words for sure, but I don't think the site wants to take any part in any share/trade stuff (ie giving any endorsement to who is good or bad with badges). It's strictly an at your own risk activity that has been allowed a small space on RIU. Best thing would be to post good/bad responses on the share/trade threads so other users can see where someone has verified successful trades. With that in mind though, if the share/trade threads turn into a b**** fest sh** show, I bet they'll get removed. The admins don't want to deal with all the extra headaches.

I did not create this thread, it was moved from another discussing such topics.
The idea of mod awarded badges creates would create a much higher level of credibility for the users an d the form itself.
A nomination requirement and clearly defined threshold requirements would minimize mod review time.
Nomination makes a tread that stays up for 1 month members provide argument mon reads thread once make a decision
I do not believe I provided enough info to award such a thing just the only example I had enough data to creat easily

You didn't but it's an idea worthy of discussion.

No , but heres why
ive been here since 2008
"trusted" people often turn into non trusted people

I cannot because than IM liable for that, I cannot endorse people because than i become the punching bag when shit goes sour, also how can i truly know anyone can be endorsed.

that isnt in the scope of my job
the idea is a cool one, but it has too many faults on the staff to do it. We just cant, you can however leave a rave review in someones thread if you wish :) and that can help others.
but im not going to try and personally vet people because I cannot

I think when you see content you like, engage with it. The source of one good thing is likely the source of others and other users could benefit from seeing same. But in the reverse, content you think is bad or wrong, just ignore it. You won't win by arguing here, or change onlookers minds either. Just don't engage with it, you just end up amplifying it, then it's taliban vs crusaders until a mod has to step in.

It's really up to you and the staff it would be a big undertaking and there are liability concerns. Expespecial for traders. Less so for advisers.
A nomination process makes it not so much of an endorsement from a mod or the site but one given democratically by the community. As well as minimizes labor of vetting
A clearly stated requirements list makes less of an endorsement and more just a statement of track record. (I'll be happy to write up a template for mods to modify if asked)
The risk of losing a badge will help deter the trusted from becoming untrusted.

It's the internet. Don't trust anyone. People have been trading seeds etc on here way, way, way before the US went legal.
