Moab

Could I use Moab with floranova base, calmag, liquid kool bloom? If so should I reduce my current nute schedule in half? Should I use Moab full strength?

I have this. It's basicallya copy of dry Kool Bloom I believe..I think it's a ripener used in the last few weeks. You have to go by PPMs so that you don't shock your plant... If you add 500 ppm of Moab then just add about half your normal Floranova. so 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water of moab plus probably 1/2 teaspoon floranova Bloom would probably put you in the 900 ppm range which I consider fine for soil or hydro.

I wouldn't use just moab because you would be missing a lot of the essential micro nutes..

M.O.A.B. can be used during the first week of bloom to help induce flowering. Add M.O.A.B. during the last two to three weeks of flowering for added levels of phosphorous and potassium. Combine 1-2 teaspoons of M.O.A.B. per 5 gallons of feed water. The amount of base nutrients may need to be reduced by as much as 50% when using M.O.A.B., over feeding may burn plants

I just tested it and added some to my resevoir... Now I have to stay up and wait to see if my plant is going to fall over and die :)

my water is 60 ppm
1/2 tsp moab = about 200 ppms.
+ 1 tsp of floranova is about 500 ppms

so 1/4 -1/2 tsp moab plus 1 - 1.5 tsp floranova is about right. You really need a cheapie ppm meter to judge for yourself.

Remember nutrients aren't food. Light is food. Your job is to give the plant the right molecules and environment to achieve its very best. More nutes doesn't equal bigger or better buds.

My "hydro guy".. You know the old guy that grew in the 70's and hasn't read a thing since.. told me that dry kool bloom is good to use in the first week of flower because it increases bud sites.. I'm not exactly sure what that means or if it's true, but I know a lot of people use it in the last few weeks to ripen.

During the rest of flower you can use liquid Kool Bloom...

Honestly, all you really need is Floranova Veg/ Bloom and some CalMag plus good water. Everything else likely has minimal effect.

Amazing! Thank u. Last night I used the Moab after writing my hands all damn day. I ended up doing pretty much exactly what u said. I used 50% floranova 50% liquid kool bloom then I did the normal percents for the other nutrients like calmag, floralicious etc. they look fine this morning so far. I'll keep my eyes on them. Oh I also started flowering another girl on 09-18 so I hit her with a little Moab too to get those sites started. She looks good so far this morning too.

I'm pretty much just like u on this. Most of my plants this year have been done simply with floranova grow and bloom, Calmag,Rapid start, and liquid kool bloom. With this batch Ive added black strap molasses during flower stage along with Moab the last week.

Was just researching the ingredients in MOAB. I just saw that u can buy some pottasium chloride and phosphoric acid for about $20. Mix them appropriately and heat them to blend and eliminate the nitrogen and you have monoammonium phosphate (MOAB). U could make about 2 pounds of this stuff for $20. Are you into growing so much that you have made your own nutrients? I haven't done so yet although I've been doing a lot of research and it's starting to occur to me that these nutes that we get at the grow stores are most likely very very overpriced and very very easy to make on your own. What are your thoughts on making your own nutrients?

Yea, mine is still alive also,so that's good news :) Let's see if I get enhanced flowering or more bud sites...... What does that even mean? "More bud sites"?
