I re-read this thread the other day out of boredom. Was interesting to see all the optimism from the beginning of the announcement of the MMPR turn into despair as it was implemented. Where are the 100+ wannabes that posted in the beginning of this thread now? Do any of them still think a "small scale" LP is feasible? So much for that "free market" with "unlimited licenses" eh?

Some small guys are still waiting in the wings, HC has been ignoring them for some time now. HC is doing everything in their power to prevent them coming to market. Your government is very corrupt right now, but they can't keep us down. The courts are on our side, just a matter of time when the shit hits the fan.

Overall cannabis consumption is sky rocketing aswell as acception. Why is HC issuing build outs to current LPs (witch should require the same security IMO) before they let everyone else get there feet wet? I find that to be bullshit, in a unbiased - fair competition oppinion.

Health Canada is stone walling and ignoring the little guys. They are abusing their power, and enforcing unwritten regulations that can't be fought, they simply tell you no and stop responding. Health Canada is as corrupt, as Harper. So no real shock. HC will only be able to do this for so long, before they are brought before the courts. This is an exciting time, Change won't happen over night, it's the government eh. If the little guys meet HC requirements they can't be denied a license, but HC will drag it heels.

I'm here, and dont think it is possible any more. I think if you would have sent your application early enough it would have been possible. With my first submission we ran into zoning issues and had to withdraw, but at that time Health Canada was very positive and even offered to call the zoning department if we wanted them to help. Later on the zoning issues were cleared up and we re-submitted almost the same application (same location) and it was denied for many reasons that were not problems the first time around (and are not even listed in the regs...). So it is evident that the rules have been changing throughout this process and it is not an even playing field.

I'm convinced that if we didn't run into the zoning problems in the first submission we would have had a very good chance of success. Now, there is no way.

The other thing I've seen happen is the "little guys" that do start making progress end up selling out to bigger corporations out of need or greed (not sure which). So even groups that start out small and well intentioned seem to be turned.

Kron...have you see that pot barons show? I ask because I can see how that could work here, but without unreasonable regulations. We, everyone, wants options. I think where HC failed was trying to force people to adopt a new system...it just pissed patients off.

No, I have not seen it.

I think HC failed in a number of areas. Their whole approach was messed up in the first place. So many problems could have been minimized with a little foresight and planning, but this is HC...
