MMPatient 4 seed N pollen

It's been awhile since I've posted. I'm a long time medical marijuana patient that just about went bankrupt because of the amount I needed to partake just to live.
because of the multiple serious conditions that MMJ help manage,
I finally got over the fear, and started too grow myself. I've have collected true GSC pollen & Rocklock, pollen. And now have seeds of that mix. My next stage is to sow a dozen or so to find the the nicest male and female and cross those.
so here are a few questions about that.
1. is it really necessary to go the extra steps... cross it again with a new M and FM, after the first pollen seeding?
2.What is a great book on breeding, genetics, terminology for medical strains?

GSC Is an awesome strain to grow and partake. I can't wait for my GSC and Rocklock cross to germinate. It's going to be a killer mix
It would be cool to find a local buddy or two to trade.

Cant u just grow out a female of each and use a small paint brush to apply the pollen.
Then the plants will create seeds which are 50% the original plant and 50% whatever the pollen is.
It sukx u will have a harvest of seedy bud but the seeds could be awesome and well worth it.

I only had a Rocklock male. I have a crossed this with a few GSC phenomes. I now have a collection of seeds with this mix. I am about to grow.
