michigan landlords say they don't want to rent to MJ patients...they didn't say just growers...they made it clear they are targeting patient who simply use their meds.
WXYZ news at 5...you can probable find the story online

that guy on the news is an idiot...but it's something for patients to think about if they are moving anytime soon

I found that when you go look at the apartment or house that you are interested in renting that you should just be up front. Luckily, living in Ann Arbor seems to give you more options as far as that goes. My current landlord is great and all the others living on the property have no complaints, they just want to know how to get their med card.

it only applies to government housing and section 8 due to the federal legality. Landlords have no say and would be violating your civil rights for housing if they tried to evict you due to your medicinal needs.

I dont agree with landlords not renting to MMJ patients...but any landlord has the right to not rent to you...growing weed is not something that a landlord has to allow in their house just because the state gave you a card...people are getting their shit raided everyday because of the gray areas in the law.
I am a patient and caregiver...I was just posting this story so people who are moving would be aware that you CAN be turned down on an app. if the landlord has a NO DRUGS policy, and enforces this policy...and landlords that rent houses, ( not all of them) do not want MJ growing in their house...it has nothing to do with section 8...you could have a million $$ year income and Jonny Landlord does not have to let you smoke on his property...not yet anyways...so don't fool yourself people...lifes a bitch.
and as far as getting evicted goes...thats a different story...I only know what they are saying about NEW renters, not current renting patients
Peace
