Mixing Soil and Coco Compact Mediums

Hey all, I'm currently growing my plant in a regular soil medium but due to the size of my flower pot, its a little small so i need to transplant over to a larger pot. My problem now is, I'm out of the regular soil but have stashed a crazy amount of Coco compact. My question is, would it be safe to fill the bottom half layer of the 2 gallon pot with coco compact and have the upper half of the pot with the original soil? Im thinking it might stress out the roots during the transition phase or even the vegetative or flowering stages... I hope any of you out there with the experience can guide me!! Thanks a bunch! If your trying to transplant into coco it's important u make sure to get as much dirt of the roots as possible. I just did this to a plant I got from a buddy. A five gallon bucket with a ph of 5.8 reg water, then lightly remove dirt from root ball. Then plant into coco pot. The reason I wouldn't leave a layer like that of dirt then coco is there ph is different dirt 6.3 and coco is 5.8. Also may hurt nute levels as well. But to take the dirt away then plant into coco you'll be fine remember ph for coco is 5.8 hope this helps pm me if you have more questions didn't want to write novel on your page

Its actually my first plant that i'm growing so I may have questions that may sound stupid but I really appreciate all the help i can get. Im not actually planning to switch from 'soil' to 'coco' but because im out of soil but have lots of coco, i was wondering if its safe to keep the regular soil and transplant directly over on top of the coco? Basically, take the original plant in the pot out of the pot and into a bigger pot with pre-adjusted/watered coco compact. But i guess you kinda already answered my question because there is a pH level difference. Thank you so much! I will go buy a bag of soil just for the transplantation! Much appreciate your assistance!! Doug
