Mixing Sativa and Indica When Smoking

First off: Hello! This is my first post. And sorry if it's in the wrong section.

I'm going to start growing my own weed soon and have been wondering what strain to get, only problem is I've never known what it is I've been smoking. I'll assume it's mostly been indica judging by how it made me feel. When I smoked a purely sativa (definitely was sativa, got it from my cousin who grows it) I was dissappointed cos it was all in my head and I enjoy the relaxation of what I've had before. However I don't really enjoy the laziness or the way conversation seems to slowly die in favour of TV.

So my question is: Would it be viable to grow two plants? One indica and one sativa and to mix them in a joint or a pipe to have more of one or the other depending on what I'm in the mood for at the time? I'm likely to want all sativa if I'm going out, a mix if I'm chilling on my own or all indica just before bed (I'm an insomniac).

Would this work / be a good idea?

Cheers for your help and sorry for my lack of knowledge.

You could grow two different things or pick a cross. SuperSilverHze and Jack the Ripper are mostly Sativa but the Indica in the mix makes them relaxing to the point of sleep if you get too comfortable. Otherwise they taste and smell great with a kickass buzz. Good Luck with your pick!

Even growing the same thing there can be a little variation so I would go ahead with your plan to have 1 of each and then mix and match as you have both. For an Indica find yourself a nice Afghani #1 or heavily Afghani bred Inidca for the great medicinal couchlock send you to bed experience. As far as Sativa the more pure bred you go the more clear and up it's going to be. I keep 1 of each on hand myself, AK-48 (65% Indica) and Seedsman's Skunk#1xHaze cross (90% Sativa). Make sure you rig your 2 top lights for different height requirements. Sativa's will be tall and Indica's much shorter. Enjoy

hahahah why the fuck wouldnt that be possible lol .

hey also people say that u can get different kinds of highs by harvesting at different times, they say if u harvest late when the trichs are amber it will give u a body/sleepy high and if u harvest early when its clear its more of a head high so u can get different kind of highs off the same plant by harvesting it at different times

Of course someone could grow an indica and a sativa and then mix them for smoking and work out some blend that would more or less give them what they want.

There would be some problems like how indica plants yield more than sativa so you would likely always be finishing with only indica or a much different ratio of the two by the time of your next harvest.

And when it comes to harvesting if you pick an indica that takes roughly 8 weeks to flower and a sativa that takes roughly 14 weeks to flower you have some drag time there between harvesting, drying, curing the indica and then being able to do the same with the sativa when it finishes.

Then if you were growing them at the same time under the same light you would have problems with lighting and height because the sativa, if not trained, would way outpace the indica in upward growth so your lighting, if all grown together under one light or one group of lights, would have to be raised giving your indica less and less light so you would have to find a good sound safe way to raise them.

If someone really thought about it a while I am sure more negatives could be easily thought up so basically the answer is yes what you asked could be done but it would be going the wrong route to get something.

You research and pick a strain that is somewhat predominantly sativa but the indica used is not a very heavy indica so you basically get a good head buzz with the relaxation of about 7.5mg to 10mg of Valium minus the sleepy I don’t want to move, I need to nap part.

Another way of getting the same basic thing in a different package is to find something that is much more predominantly sativa but was crossed with a very heavy indica. Heavy indica or not being only a very small percentage of the genetics it is not overpowering.

You want something with a CBD level that is under 1.0. At about 1.0 the couch-lock really sets in so you want less. How much less you may have to experiment with but lower CBD and low CBN too for that fact is what you want to look for in a cross.
