Mitus Grow Journal - Indoor Growtents

Rather than type a bunch of shit I'm just gonna post a bunch of pics till I get caught up to where I'm at...

First section of pictures is my Aero/DWC grow... 14 Green Crack clones in homemade aero/dwc tubs. The tubs were made from 27 gal totes. both tubs were under one 1000w light. Veg'd for 2 weeks and flowred for 8.

I pulled just a little over 1 lb off the green crack and a handful of bubble hash... it was wonderful...

Here is a few shots of my failed aero/nft run. I'm currently working on improving this design as well as the temp of the room and water.

In this design I used 6" schedule 40 PVC and 3" netcups. On the new setup I think I'll be using 4" PVC and 2" netcups. I had a lot of issues using a 1/4 HP submersible water pump... it produced too much heat for the time that it needed to be on. Also I had my water chiller too close to my growroom and it also produces a lot of heat exhaust. It's an expensive trial and error process, but I love every second of it... to be continued...

Here is a shot of a recent run in one of my grow tents. There are several reasons why this run failed and I'll see if i can cover a few of them...

1) the clones I picked up from the shop looked good on the shelf, but when i got them home the roots werent exactly amazing...
2) i started 5 strains on the same nutrients in the same tray... they all were growing at different rates and some didnt seem to like the nutrients as much as the others...
3) I got Knats... they were breading under the coco mat in my tray and getting quite out of hand...

so with a few other things going wrong with that tent I decided to cut my losses (literally) and toss them out along with the knats.

I started a few mom plants off some strong clones a while back they were just about ready to give me some babies ...

When I was just finishing up with my first grow I purchased a smaller growtent and tossed 3 different clones in single homemade drip buckets... I left them under a few T5 lights I got at homedepot and I'd say I only checked on them maybe once or twice a week... One of them died off...I should of checked more... but hey I was busy...

The two survivors were Black Domina and Chemdawg D. I got about 30-40 cuttings from each mother. I kept enough for myself and donated the rest to a local shop.

Here is a few shots of what my mother tent looks like now. They are no longer sitting under T5's. Now i Have a 400w MH set up in there and I'm also starting a few new moms as well. From the last batch of Black Domina cuttings I kept my favorite one and am reproducing another mom out of it. I also got an OG kush clone from a friend... AND... dun dun dun... I ordered some feminized seeds from a seedbank in the netherlands... the one's i've already poped are Aurora Indica (which I plan to call Midas Touch). I'm also in the process of germinating some "AK-48"... some "UK Cheese"... and "Blue Moon" (I could be wrong on the Blue Moon name... Its Blue M...something haha) I'll let you know how those go...

wat company is the blue m...something from could it b blue moonshine i hope so i got some on the way im building your 2 7 plant setups next week i got all my wood and ploy for my room to day its a working process

so in the areo/dwc do you use sprayer nozzels and a pump and air stones with an air pump

Yes I had a pump hooked to a PVC manifold running down the center of the tub. The PVC had sprayers lined across the top of it. I also had a dual outlet air pump with two fat air stones sitting inside.

Here is a few shots of the seeds I'm germinating and of some fresh cut clones.

The seed strains are AK-48, Blue Moon & Cheese (all feminized). The Clones are Black Domina and Chemdawg D.

Hey Mitus! Whadup? Long time-no speak! Very nice grow-op! Whats up with the 6".....you said problems.

Can't you move the chiller outside the room and go with an external pump for the sprayers? If possible use a small separate submersible pump for circulating water through the chiller. Chillers do a better job when the water flow is a little slower.

Yes those were all things I knew that needed to b done
but my space does not allow for it at the moment. I missed u buddy!!

ahhhh....looks like you got it all under control. I'll bet you're making a lot of RIU'rs jealous!

Look at these monsters. That pic was taken at 23 days in to 12/12. HashPlant....supposed to be 40day strain. We shall see.

Nice! I got a batch of black domina and chemdawg going. They are both in 5th of 9-10 weeks of flowering. I got some afgahn I'm starting soon too

Now I'm jealous.

You didn't say what the issue with the 6" was. Why are you going to 4"?

Oh it's cost haha... And I think 4" is still pleanty of room. Although I will still use my 6" system for sure.

Here are some shots of my last tent grow. It was two 4'x4' trays in a 4'x8' tent, under two 1000w hps. one tray held 35 Black Domina Kush plants about 2.5 feet tall... the other tray held 9 Afghan Kush/4 Green Crack/2 Aroura Indica.

The Afgahn, Green Crack and Aroura Indica are long gone, but here is a shot of the Black Domina drying out.

No more tents now guys... unless to keep a mom or clone lab... on to bigger and better things
