Miracle Grow put on top of soil to fertilize?

Today I found a big bag of Miracle-Gro in my basement and remembered I hadn`t done anything to the soil when I put my plants in the ground (DIRECTLY in the ground) except for use a bit of normal non fertilized potting soil and some sheep manure.
So I got the idea of putting some miracle-gro on top top layer of soil for all my plants, hoping it would add some nutrients and help them grow a bit faster. Will this make any difference at all or was I just wasting my time?

You are better off using Fox Farms or Humbolt Nutes. I've been told Miracle Gro is a No-No, and that it will adversly affect the taste of your smoke. Not hatin, just sayin!

Even if my plants are still vegging? Only like 3 of them are starting to flower... I plan on flushing the last two weeks of flowering and using molasses in the water to hopefully get that "sweeter" taste I keep hearing about

molasses is for adding carbs which produce heavier buds.

yeah but if you're using merical grow which is killing most of the beneficial microbes that feed off of the molasses to make the buds bigger, there isn't really a point because the two don't get along well together. gotta use organics with molasses or don't use it at all imo.

I only put some miracle grow on the top layer of soil... Will it really make that much of a difference with the molasses? I dont harvest for probably another 8-10 weeks

miracle grow on the top layer will go into the middle and bottom layer after the first watering or second.... yes it will be detrimental to the function of the molasses.....

Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Why not just mix it in water and feed the plants that way. I'd start at 1/4 to 1/2 the dose recommended on the bag and depending how the plants respond go from there. Miracle grow is pretty potent stuff and where a lot of people go wrong is using too much, too soon, and too often. How big are the plants and what stage of growth are they in? Also, what kind of miracle grow is it?

sounds like a chance to experiment, they say it will counter act the molasses but it might make the taste smoother, i no it certainly wont be smoother if u just say theres no point in using it, wat'd u got to lose but a few dollars worth of mollasses, give it a shot

ne chemical nute is gonna afect the taste of ur buds, so unless those nutes u use are all organic theyll affect the taste too, no matter tho nuthin a good flushin and proper cure cant fix

Oh, I thought you meant you found some miracle gro fertilizer, not soil. In that case, a thin layer probaby won't do any harm. Haha I thought you meant you were going to sprinkle the actual plant food on top, sorry.

I think we all got that from the first post. I'm a first timer but even I was like "what the hell would you do that for" lol.

As a former miracle grow user I have to say look elsewhere. Whoever said Fox Farms is right on. Miracle grow will fuck up your crops.

ohhh miracle grow soil is TOTALLY different than what I thought you were talking about...

if it's one of miracle grows organic mixes you can most definitely use that with molasses... but I"d recommend buying a beneficial bacteria/fungi mix to add to your plants...
