Michigan Legislature's fall agenda

I think the tiered system is complete overkill and is designed to cut off everyone currently involved in medical marijuana to give way for rich investors to take over the industry. From what I have read, the police unions will only get behind legal dispensaries if the legislature abolishes the caregiver model. You can rest assured that anything the Michigan GOP wants to do with medical marijuana is going to be in the best interest of law enforcement and investors rather than patients and caregivers.

I don't have a problem with the tiered system if they don't mess with patients to grow there own and dont limit the number of lisensced grows like some states anti free market ideas.

I believe they want to remove growing rights from the people. I'm not sure how this tiered system made it this far, don't the people have to vote on it? I'm sure our superiors will send it straight to the governor to sign once they figure out to benefit themselves and the folks who line their pockets.

Isnt it hb 4209? As of right now, i dont believe that infringes upon patients/caregivers home grows. In its original form, it actually had language for patients/cg to sell overages to dispensarys, but alot of stuff was changed at the will of leo lobbyists.

Just browsed through it. From that language, I didn't see anything that dismantles the current system. It appears as if they aim to render it obsolete and push us from the marketplace, requiring dispos to go through the licensed providers. And I think that was passed this afternoon.

So basically there aiming to make it like the alcohol industry.Like the liquor licenses are super expensive and only rich people can afford it. Sounds like there going to try and get rid of us moonshiners n boot leggers that grow our own. Then we will have to accept bullshit grown Monsanto gmo weed just like budweisers gmo bull shit beer. This is a money war on a God damn vegetable. There goes the economic weed boom right in the rich man's back pocket.

http://www.mlive.com/news/index.ssf/2016/09/senate_moves_to_clear_up_legal.html

"In total, the Senate passed the following bills that had come over from the House:

  • House Bill 4209 creates the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act to license and regulate the growth, processing, transport and provisioning of medical marijuana. It passed 25-12, and the no votes came from Republicans.
  • House Bill 4210 amends the voter-initiated Michigan Medical Marihuana Act to allow for the manufacture and use of marijuana-infused products by qualified patients. It passed 28-9.
  • House Bill 4827 creates the Marihuana Tracking Act and a seed-to-sale tracking system to track all medical marijuana."

So is there an impact for the registered individual grower? Any part of 4827 discuss that?

Thank you for posting that

I browsed through the house passed bill which was slightly modified in the senate and there were a few things that were a bit concerning. We'll see what the a-holes in the senate did with it once the dirt bags actually put the text of the legislation online for us lowly citizens to read up on. One thing is for certain, when politicians get involved with marijuana related legislation, nothing good ever comes of it. Illegal transport law anybody? Fuck politicians..

Ahh jeez, I have a bad feeling about this. Big money is come and have it's way with the state's law. I feel a lot of people waited to see what is happening in states like CO, WA, and OR before they invested in the industry. Not sure who had the money to back these bills but I'm sure they already have plans for when they do pass. It seems like our state is tired of not having a tightly regulated system. Only issue I see is the police ruining people's lives over a plant. Other than that I like our current medical law.

Well hopefully in the end this is all for dispensaries who intend to sell and profit and leave people like me alone who just want to grow for personal use. Cause in the end u can grow tobacco and brew alcohol and use it for personal, but u just can't sell it without a license, and if you do you will be regulated. Maybe that's where this is going I hope, and not wipe me out to.

From the article-
The new law, if signed by Snyder, “will give us a lot more freedom to operate and lot more potential profits right now, if you toe the line, you really can’t make much,” Macdonald said-

Well Adam, take your dispo and shove it up your ass! The mmmj law isn't there for you to take advantage of and get wealthy off of sick patients.
