MH vs CFL setup Help me pick

I've Only used floros(t12's, t8's, CFLs). And lots of sun light. HID don't output adequate PAR light/watt for my tastes. Hortilux MH(BLUE or Super BLUE which is HPS/MH a 2 in 1) is pretty close, though. If anything(HID) I'd go with EYE Hortilux, and be sure to invest in a top-quality ballast/igniter.
So translated I read this as: Yes I have no experience with what you are talking about but I'm going to continue to argue and keep my own incorrect assumptions.
Plus on top of that I'm going to try to be a snobby t5 person and say something like I don't like the par value of normal hid's, that can't be good enough, so if I were going to use HID the only thing suitable for my stature is the most expensive HID bulbs and ballasts.

Is that about right?

I've seen enough measurements from independent testers(mostly) and manufacturers(rarely).

Doesn't the fact that MOST HID manufacturers publish ZERO info on PAR output kind of uh... turn you off?

And the independent testers have results that make HID(HPS) look slightly better than incandescent....

No thanks.

I'm no snob. I just use what's most efficient. That is: Yield/Investment.

If I'm going to be paying for 400+ kWh then yes, they better fucking be efficient.

Dude you're still doing it...

If t5's are better than hid's how about you show us all the commercial growers who have ditched their old HID's and replaced them with t5's...

How many examples can you find?

Commercial growers are so seriously interested in eeking out every inch of performance from their wattage dollars that they'd buy just about anything at any cost if it was better, yet they aren't replacing any of their hid's for t5's. None... Not one large scale grower.

Why?

'Better' is subjective.... For instance, would you rather adjust lights or be selling product? Which will be better for your business? You could hire people to do this for you... but that'd lower efficiency.

For those who are not in 'business' the matter is simple: most grams of sufficient quality per dollar invested.

I feel we're repeating ourselves ad nauseum.... Lights you don't have to adjust(necessarily, HID) vs lights you ought to(CFL).

Yea I'm done... I don't care.
Hey, I DO care. Some people call Marijuana a gift from God. I'd have to agree with them even though I'm atheist.

You got a lot of great posts on this forum. You seem to have a lot of experience as well. I think you're great.

Don't let prejudice hold you back. I don't want to argue. Lets be constructive!

I just found a light im very happy with.. It puts out 30,000 Lumens and only 48"x18".. And I seem to have room for my Two HPS 50w to work along with this fixture which will bring me up to 40,000 so this seems to be the way to go and they are CFLs!
