k.. i have a 175w m57 ballast with the smaller(?) mh bulb. (wich i got for free, just lying around) I've been looking for a conversion bulb so i can flower using hps n-stead of mh

i found a conversion bulb for the m57 ballast on 1000bulbs.com
150 Watt - High Pressure Sodium - 1900K - Clear - NH150CE/EN - EYE #62345 Light Bulb
but its the bigger(?) type bulb and it wont fit in my fixture... bulb dimensions are like 8x3 ...thats just under the size of my fixture (pic)

so my question, do they even make such an apperatus as to fit that fixture, i mean, the smaller type bulbs but still converts to hps? or do i gotta go buy a 500$ light system :(

any help, tips appreciated

By smaller and larger i take it you mean the socket size yes? as in your bulb is a standard "medium" base bulb and the bulb your looking at is a larger "Mogul" base lamp. I do know that there is a converter they sell to step it up but i have never used one.

Make sure that the bulb you buy is oh a matching wattage to the ballast your using, I have no experience but i would think that it may be a bad idea to pt a 150 bulb in a 175 ballast.

Good luck

its a conversion bulb... even tho its 150w. it works in the 175w. m57 ballast but the bulb is too big to fit in the fixture weather or not its the same size base.. wich brings to my attention that the ballast i have does have the medium type base and the bulb that i was considering (the conversion bulb) is the larger mogul base...

too much trouble. ill just spend 300$ on a digital greenhouse 600w. comes with mh+hps, ballast, and hood... not bad. plus its worth it to me to not have to worry about it anymore :) thx all
