MH and HPS Fuck Up

Damn it, I did it. I got mixed up and put in a HPS 600 bulb for the last month or so of vegging when I obviously should have been using the MH. Should I go ahead and switch it over now or what, I am really not sure what to do at this point. I have been doing 24/7 with an 8 bulb set of T5's and the 600 HPS instead of the MH. I guess I should go ahead and switch out the bulbs?

HPS is acceptable for vegging. It's true that you don't get a high spectrum color (like 6500K), but personally the lumen output in HPS compared to MH is higher. You could swap it for the rest of your veg, i don't see it causing that big of difference either way at this point.

I dont see a problem with finishing it with the HPS.

I'm usually a 'dog' person, but I may have to change, love the kitty! LOL!

The main problem with using an HPS is you get more stretch then you really want. So the plants can get taller. I would just keep what you have going now. I personally veg on low power daylight CFL and T5 because that seems to be enough for them and it saves electricity.

Cool, I will check it out - do you really think I should just go ahead and let it go with the HPS and it won't make any difference?

You know I was just thinking that I would like to get a 1000w but my electricity bill has gone way up with the 8 bulb T5's and the 600W even though I am not sure that is the deal I think it is, is that possible that it could go up say a couple of hundred a month, (I mean I am running them both 24 hours a day)?
