Mewk's Tiny PC Grow / 69w CFL / 12-12FS / Soil

Alright... Here we go.

Last Sunday I dropped my girl into a shotglass of RO'd water, left her 12hours, by that time she was still floating, but one small tap and she sunk to the bottom.

Then replanted into a tiny pot, and have had her sat in the lounge all week, with no signs of anything green. Then this morning, I checked on her, and it seems we've broken through the soil! She's looking a tad pale, but I'm not gonna start fretting this early on, I'm sure she'll perk up in a day or so.

So anyway, here's a couple pics. Nothing really interesting yet, but I just wanted to get the ball rolling with my grow diary.

Any suggestions as to how soon I should pop her under the lights, or repot into the big tray?

And the long journey ahead begins. The seedling is fine in that pot for a couple of weeks and no ferts for awhile yet. Small plants drink small amounts of water, so what I'm saying is go easy on the water, add just enough water to keep moist, not drenched.

^^ What curiosity said, I would probably get her under lights today or tomorrow. I would also repot in like 4 days or less personally, pretty much as soon as the seedlings not totally fragile, so she develops a really strong root network in the final pot as early as possible.

That pot can prob last a while
I used a seedling tray for way longer than I shold have and it was ok.

But you coild save the 'trouble' and do it after a bit. Maybe 2nd node?.

It's Day 04.

All's lookin pretty good. I picked up some silicon sealant, and lightproofed the majority of the box. My girl's now in her big pot and she doesn't seem to be doing any stretching under the lights. I've got her about 20mm away from the light and she seems to be lovin it. The changeover went fine, no signs of shock of any kind. Watering's going good, will just be lettin her cycle through a good soaking and then going a little dry, make those roots work for their food.

Alright, a couple pics, one from Day02, before she was repotted, and a couple from this morning.

*EDIT
Should also mention, that's she's gone straight under 12/12 lighting, 69watts from three CFLs.

I would've said veg for a little while at the very least, I've never seen a grow go well when it goes straight to flowering. Just my input bud, do what feels right for you - after all, it's your grow.

@Jaiimc - Yeh man, I've been thinking the same. But I'm intrigued to see how the 12/12 from seed will go now. I've caught a few diaries and youtube vids of big lookin plants that've been flowered from seed. The second grow will be with the same seeds, so I'll see how this one works out and then maybe go with a short veg for the second one.

@antdog - Here's some pics man. The lights are in there tight now, so I'm not gonna rack em sideways. Also ignore the SCROG screen, that idea's been dumped now, and am gonna be doing a thorough LST job on her instead. It doesn't look like there's a lotta room there, but the pot is stacked up on a bunch of dvd's, so I can easily raise or lower it. Sorry they're not very bright photos.

I've ran 12?12 from seed on the plant I'm currently finishing, I recommend some lst for sure to help with stretch.

That's the idea Carpetflier. I've already got her pinned down, planning on keeping the main stem and first branches as low as possible. If I just take my time and go careful with the way I treat her, I reckon I should be able to get a nice tidy canopy, with maximum bud spots. I wasn't sure if the light would seriously be enough, but honestly, she seems to be enjoying it. The temps never get too high, (the wonders of England) and she seems to be okay with the colder nights too. I'll get some fresh pics up soon. Just didn't wanna get a flaming for LSTing so early.

Nothing much to report. She seems happy and healthy. I think I might have had her a little *too* close to the lights, so have dropped her down a touch. Here's a couple pics to keep you goin.

@Griffin
Thanks for subbin man, let's hope it's a good ride.

You're gonna have to put those lights sideways and not pointing down. They should be good for a month or so but shes gonna need all the room she can get. And CFL's give off more lumens from the side rather than the top. If that makes sense. haha.

Thanks for the input HolySmoke... I appreciate the concern... But the lights aren't moving, well, not for this grow anyhows. I've got room to lower her down some, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem, plus the LST should keep her mostly outa trouble... As for this 'more light from the sides' lark, sorry man, I'm not sure I buy into that... If that is the case, wouldn't all houselights be set sideways? Regardless, the lights won't change as they're fixed in there really securely,- maybe on the next grow, if I feel I really need the room.
