Mephisto Grape Crinkle......1 pound of autoflower MADNESS!

There just seems to be something special about Mephisto Genetic's Crape Crinkle. I have grown 2 of them in the past and the best was 12.47oz dry. With my new better set up and better lighting my goal is for a 1 pound(dry) Mephisto Grape Crinkle.

I do things a little different than some DWC growers. First I give ZERO Fu(Ks about bucket temps. I will be use Botanicare's Hydroguard like in all of my grows. As the grow moves forward I do raise my nute solution level very high with it being within 2 or 3 inches from the bucket rims vs being under the bottom of the net pot.

Simple General Hydroponics FLORA 3 part is my nute program of choice. With Botanicare's Silica Blast and SWEET in the mix as well.

Here is my super high tech germination chamber. It's a plastic sandwich container sitting on top of an old cable TV box(left on).

This seed was placed into the wet paper towels at 6pm and by 9am(15hrs) the next morning she is ready for the root cube.

Today marks day 2 from sprout for her. I love these HTG Rhizocore net pot/bucket tops. Her tap root is already 4"+ long. She will get her first 85-100PPM feed tomorrow.

So my Grape Crinkle is on day 9 today. She has been getting a taste of GH's GRO and MICRO so far and is at 107PPM. She's got some signs of low humidity but I am not worried one bit as it's just the way my set up runs. The tent humidity will go up once she starts getting big enough to effect the conditions inside the tent herself. I have had her under a Amare SS150 with both the veg and flower lights on. If I remember correctly this draws 152w at the wall with both settings on. My bucket temp is right at 80 degrees this morning but again I am not worried about it at all. I am running Hydroguard. Bucket temps will drop once her canopy is big enough to cover the bucket top which should be in just a couple of weeks!

Nothing much to report yet. She is on day 15 as of today. She is sitting in 100PPM nutes so according to my records I will call her a light feeder compared to my other Grape Crinkles at this same stage. Her side growth is right on par with she past sister and this is a good thing. She has had the MarsHydro 300 over her but I swapped out to my Amare SS150 this morning.

That's quite the UPGRADE! Did you have a prob with the Blue LEDs on the mars blowing? It was on another site, just curious.

Nice lookin' little gal, there, you letting her fill out? Topping, LST...? Subbed for sure.

Day 27........she was moved into my 4x4 tent yesterday. She is finally starting to up her feeding some though she is only at 200PPM still which looking over my records is about half of what her other sisters were at this same stage. She is without question very Sativa dominate unlike the other 2 Grape Crinkles I have grown and that is making me a little worried about my yield end goals with her. But I will be more than happy regardless of the outcome.

Day 30...it's amazing as to what can change in only 3 days! She has gone from barely wanting 200PPM to now up to 400PPM. I might do things a little different than others as I do bucket top offs and reset PPM levels twice a day and as a result am able to make changes quickly. But the way I have always looked at it is that if a plant wants more(or less) then give it to them. And the best thing I like about DWC is that I can make a change and it will effect the plant so much faster than in soil. Now one thing that has be scratching my head is that on the day she really started to pick up her feeding needs is also the very day I replaced the RO membrane in my RO/DI filter. I hadn't checked the PPM of my filtered water in a while and when I did it was 14PPM so I decided to order up a new membrane and now it's back to 0PPM. Maybe it was just the timing of it but it does seems strange that her feeding needs went up so fast since the change. Maybe what ever the 14PPM that was left in my water was pissing her off ...I don't know but I am not willing to stick the old membrane back in to find out!

BEAST MODE........

Well in the last few day she has gone crazy! She is up to 600PPM and is drinking 1.5 gallons of solution a day. She is 30" high and 30" wide. I just finished a Luminus CXM22 COB fixture that I can crank up to over 200w of power but I am keeping it at 200w for now. So I now have 550w of LED in the 4x4 tent, 200w of CXM22, 200w of Cree cxb3590 and 150w of Amare SS150. The plan is to add another fixture @200w but it may be the next grow before I do that.

Day 48.....not much to report. She is chugging along pretty well. It looks like she is topping out at 36" tall. So not as tall as I thought she would get at the start of the grow but still the tallest Grape Crinkle I have had so far. I have pulled her PPM's back to around 490 and she is sucking down 2 gallons of water a day. Looking like she will go longer than 71 days like all her sisters have done in the past.
