Just had a tooth pulled. Usually I can handle this kind of pain. Today was excruciating for some reason. I actually screamed even after a whopping 10+ shots of Lidocane. After the butchery, the dentist advised me the normal things...no alcohol, no soda, no rinsing, no straws, no smoking (HOLD ON A SEC THERE DOC)!!! I wanted to say do you mean like cigarette smoke, cause I don't do that. I should've asked if gentle smoking is ok? Anyone here ever medicate for dental pain? A little to take the edge off? I do have some lortabs, but not sure if that alone will cut it.

the problem with smoking is the suction. You get Dry Sockets. Where theres an air pocket under the skin of the extracted tooth. the pressure changes can make it expand and hurt like hell and it takes longer to heal.
So maybe a vapoizer or something where you dont have to suck hard.

Great I do have a puff it vape :-) But why isnt vaping the same as suction? I mean you pull in the vapor the same, by inhaling?

ilikecheetoes is absolutely correct, I've had many friends, family, as well as my self go through lots of extractions & there never any fun, avoiding any kind of suction (drinking through a straw & smoking anything) & keeping your mouth clean is imperative to avoiding infections & dry socket, DRY SOCKET IS EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL!!! You think that shit hurts now, you have no idea, suck on something a little too hard & get some air under that clot & you'll be banging your head against the wall just to feel something else. I would recommend that you take some edibles of some kind but if you must smoke then I highly suggest you take VERY lite puffs with VERY LITTLE SUCTION, I imagine vaping would be better as you could just lightly put your lips to it & breath in the vapor rather than sucking on a pipe/bong/joint or whatever, just FYI!!

i dont do ANY smoking for at least 2 weeks. the horror stories of a dry socket is NOT in any way worth it. absoutely HORRIBLE, and the fix is just as bad. i usually make a tincture for myself a few weeks before i know im going for anything. i still have the evaporated (super concentrated) green dragon tincture left i use when needed.

We had a dumbass on the forums a few weeks ago that decided to vape and drink alcohol. Well he got dry socket AND now he has a infection.

Don't smoke, vape, drink alcohol or suck though a straw.
