Medical Marijuana provider

A dear friend of mine wants to get her mmj card. I told her I would love to
be a provider for her when that happens.
So here's the question. Say my employer some how finds out I grow medical
marijuana. Yet I come out consistently negative on my pee test. Can I still
be fired?.

Depends upon the terms of your employment. If growing MMJ is prohibited then I would say yes. If not then I would say no. But in general, if you get your legal advice from the RIU forum, then there might be deeper forces at work. :)

I would say yes and only because it is a Federal crime to do so in their eyes. But what are the chances your boss finds out? very slim I assume as long as you tell not one living soul. I wish companies would accept the fact that growing/using MJ is not a crime.

Hmmmm now come to think of it, it might also be a State crime because it looks like us MMJ card holders may lose our right to grow our medicine which really sucks. I take it your friend is not capable of growing her own? We will find out about the MMJ growing rights in a few days as the board is having a meeting about this issue.

Dee did bring up a great point BTW, but I do not really see any employer that will let you grow it. And if you ask your Boss about it you are putting your job at stake right there.

She tried to grow her own but sucks at it, and didn't want to try again. You are right, the chances of them finding
out is miniscule, so I shouldn't worry about it.
My employer does random drug tests, so the cannabis I harvested earlier in the year was just
sitting around in the jar looking pretty and yummy, so I gave it to my friend. She appreciated it much. I have
some I grew from a plant in my backyard and harvested in late October. I plan to give that to her also.
Its still curing.
She bought some seeds for me, and when she gets them, she will send them to me. I can't wait to start
growing again.

Kudos to you for sharing with her!

You could also help her find a regular caregiver with enough growing experience to supply the meds she needs.
what ails her?

She has insomnia, and has had life threatening pancreatitis. From what I understand the definition
of a caregiver is someone who is responsible for the
housing, health and well being of the patient.
She doesn't need that because she has her husband
and family, she just needs a provider.

......'caregiver' is nowhere in the 'Provider" clause. "Caregiver" is something not involving mmj, as all you can offer as a mmj Provider is just that; mmj/MC. You just need the person to sign you off as their Provider on their paperwork, and have an original yourself. But other than advice and maybe 'experimenting ' with different strains to see what helps them most is about all you can offer. Nowhere does it say you need to be a nurse or have any of those responsibilities! All's your responsible for is the authenticity of the recommendation and your own originals of it, and plant numbers, etc..... This will all be changing real soon here, however.:peace:gman
