I personally know of several people who have had visits from the police, they aren't going to do a checkup on you before they know out about your grow, but if they find out, expect visits.

i know a handful of growers who've invited the police over themselves and the local pd thanked them for it. (ie if they're informed that it's legal they don't have to show up guns drawn and cherries ablaze)

a guy down the street had a neighbour call the cops about the smell on harvest day.... they showed up, looked his place over, and left, but now the whole neighbourhood knows he grows. (it takes the heat off us, but i sure as hell wouldn't like being in his shoes in this town.)

does anybody know whatever happened with that granny in kelowna who was raided even though she was up to code and within her plant count?

That's why you don't tell them, but don't lie to them if inquired about it.

Word gets around, even if nobody said anything... general activities associated with growing speaks to anyone with a clue about anything. Word is one of the fastest forms of spreading information, so when one person in a small town finds out, everyone in that town, and probably 4 towns in any direction also know within a matter of days even.

It's the cops jobs to find grows, legal or not, they don't know the difference between a legal grow and an illegal grow when their flying overhead, or when they bust in your door because a neighbor smelled something funny, they only know the difference once you've provided your permit to grow. All in all, make sure you do it right and you'll never have a knock on your door. Half assed jobs deserve to be inspected... potential hazards.

Now the thiefs which will kill for it know about it. So sad but true. Strict security measures are always needed in my view

I need to comment. Cops aren't going around for plants less than 8. They have more important things do to and unless you have previous history with the police dept your safe. Also if you get your card before they make the changes you'll be able to keep your grandfather card and continue to grow. -reliable source in health canada.

The only people who have less than 8 plants are those with a 1g/day license.

How is grandfathering possible when you have to renew your license every year?

And what's this card you speak of? They haven't been giving those out for a while now...

You renew it with health canada. The card meaning the slip allowing you to grow and use marijuana for medical purposes.

So, you're saying that Health Canada will continue to renew the licenses of those already permitted to grow?

I'll need to see that in writing before I believe it because half the reason things are changing is because of people growing illegally under the guise of the MMAR program.

yeah, i'm kinda with electronug here.....

no offense, it just seems like grandfathering current P/DG's would go directly against the whole "treating mmj more like a real pharmaceutical" kick they seem to be on.....
