medical collective 45plant max setups

So Im going to be starting a collective grow and have a 45 plant max. I was curious how other growers would maximize their yield and have a perpetual grow while maintaining only 45 plants at all times. I figure I could have a room of 4 1000w lights with 4 plants per light. Thats 16 plants under 4k. In another room I could have another 4 1000w but this time each have their own 1 plant( trying for 4x 1pound plants in that second room). So this gives me 20 plants flowering at all times and if all goes well 8 pounds(1lb per light). The other side of the room could havea few MH and the other 20 in veg. that leaves me with 5 I could keep as mothers. This is the best I can think of, anyway... I figure this way it will be perpetual so I can get more grows in per year but also have a few more pounds by growing 4x 1pound plants and still staying within my limit... although this way is more risky because if anything happens to any of the 1 pound plants i'm out an entire pound.

Anyone know the sq footage of an area you would need for something like this? I was thinking somewhere around 500sq ft. Does that sound about right? Quick Sketch / Idea Rendering below...

If there is a standard to how best to maximize a 45 plant limit for collectives please give me your input!

Thanks!

I do a much smaller perpetual grow and one thing i can tell you is you will need more flower area tthan you think
I'm too high to think through the math but you need to get your timing down clones will work great they stay pretty consistent figure out how long you are going to veg add the flower time and stagger so you can harvest every other week or so
sorry i don't have more detail it took me 6 moths to get my cycle down dang sativas :)

It all depends on strains and flower times . I'd settle on 3 strains . One 8 week finisher one 9 week finisher , and one you can roast on a stick for 10 plus weeks . 3 moms . My picks right now would be ak-47 serious seeds , C99 Female Seeds , and Blue Dream HSO. ( of course they change after a few runs ! I'd set the timing up with every light harvesting every 2 weeks . You'll never run out and you can keep it going .your plan is not bad . It's all what you want to do Good luck .

Hey thanks a bunch guys! panhead, yea im going to aim for 1lb per light. For the last year I've had one half of a 100sq foot room for flowering 6 plants under a 400w and 600w hps and got about 380grams(veg kinda big, about 3 weeks or 1 1/2 foot)... I figure 1000w would be more lumens than both of those lights together so hopefully that and adding co2 should make up the difference. Im expecting maybe a bit less than a lb per light for the first grow until I get things down.

another consideration I've had is along the same lines of what you guys are saying that it really depends on strain as well, so I figure maybe do one quick run of 45 different strains(or as many A+ strains I can get my hands on) and find which ones do best in my environment, then do production runs of those and keep some mothers.

Thanks for the strain recommendations THCbreeder... I grew a blue dream clone recently(random clone from a place in downtown l.a.) and while it was one of my biggest yielders, it was the most unfrosted bud I've ever grown... but something tells me it was just that pheno since most blue dream I've ever smoked is A+ quality and very frosty(Also grew Moby Dick at the same time last time and it was some of the best stuff I've ever grown!). Im doing this is WA and they have some of the same strains available as they have in NorCal... would you say the strains in NorCal area are still that much better or does the BC strains and some NorCal strains they have in WA just as good you think?

ijiandfarmgang thats a good point. What I would like to do is find one or two(or three) strains I like as far as potency and yield and do production runs of those...

BTW I've only grew DWC 6 buckets under 1000w , not 4... I grow for about a month or three weeks veg for 6 plants and things usually get pretty tight... How long should I veg for with 4 plants under 1000w('bout 1 1/2 month?) and is a lb per light pretty typical or take a lot more know how(again, I usually get about 350 - 400g w/o chiller or co2 which I'll be using for this new setup)?

Thanks again for the advice

I'm sure you'll figure out what works for you, but better sooner then later. I didn't realize you wanted a 1 potato per light, gives you lots of room for error 8-).

Not sure your rules, but where I'm at, cuttings count as plants (this is grey area, but up to responding LEO). So basically your timing has to be good, and you should plan on flowering less and culling some clones.

Gotta keep an eye on this post. Insane, I've been searching for weeks for an answer to this exact question. We must be from the same state!!
Edit: We are :bigjoint:
