This guy over at grasscity is doing a comparison grow between 2 different LED manufacturers including MARS hydro: http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-grow-journals/1378594-platinumled-mars-hydro-comparison-grow.html

Its very interesting to see since growers on other forums where certain companies are promoted may not be giving the rest of us the whole story of how good the lights are since they never post negatives. I don`t know enough about LED lights as I`ve been learning to grow with CFL and MH and HPS.

PlatinumLED vs Mars to see which fixture new growers will buy:spew:

I'm guessing you guys don't approve but it's still worthwhile information by what seems to be a 3rd party tester. You must know it's hard to find reliable/truthful information when it comes to LEDs which is a big reason why I haven't even really sniffed at pursuing it. Too much marketing speak out there rather than proof and facts.

theyre pretty much dead even between the two of them in terms of size, i forgot you had to be logged in to view photos on that forum and i can't seem to save and reupload them either :/ But the platinum plant seems to have a better look overall to it. I'm just following it to see what he gets at the end of it all.

Kinda hard to have problems when this is your first post?

What do you recommend? Don't just come with a problem without a solution
All I have to say is fuck Mars and there is a solution just diy and pay for peace of mind not lies. Do you even own a Mars light? I'm about to smash a Mars 300w 3w diode panel and make an even funnier video. @david dombek spent his money on something he thought he had a warranty on and was let down.

Bonjour
Who want to buy a second hand mars pannel???
Try to sell it twice the price you bought it...!
Just paint it in black and invent a fancy name like...mars hydro black serie...
Or just add a better fan on it...
Have a great day ★

No I don't have a Mars light as I did research before any purchase I didn't just drop my pants to the all mighty LED. Found a DIY rig like yours with quality parts is the way to go, plus I can build it how I want to. The first response after me was a solution..all I was looking for.

New member flaming a company first post... Usually comes with a follow up comment about their companies far better product. Shady business in the led game, would expect nothing less than some slander from a competitor..

Cute video, I especially liked how you stomped on it like a three year old who didn't get their way.

You're funny. You don't even own a LED light so you trolled this guy and I called you out about it and now you are being troll-like which means you are not fully a troll lol. Can you contribute anything here about LES? If you even know what LES means

Never said I didn't own an LED, I also agree I'm not a troll. I've had an interest in LEDs more specifically OLED and materials impregnation (under grad thesis) for years now. That lead me to my part time work with one of Americas largest LED sign companies for improved conductivity and longevity of LEDs and the subsequent novel applications of them. However these diodes are admittedly just colored and have no use for specific wave lengths as they are for signage. I've quietly watched as the technology has improved and lent itself to indoor cultivation. I then approached the owner and suggested they branch off and tackle the indoor market. I've since been doing market research and admit they are almost all scam artist who make ambiguous claims of intensities, efficiency, and just shit quality. So yes I agree the DIY is the way to go, even proposed kits of high quality parts for self assembly.. There is no profit margin. The only way to make a profit is to do exactly what the led companies are doing.. Slam shit parts in there and hope not too many fail. We've abandoned the project, the real money comes from the programmers writing code to say "make noise" (stadiums).

For me personally I'm going to make my own once some spare time comes my way. Till then I'll keep the HPS.

Do I know what LES means.. No. Care to explain?

LES means light emitting surface, multiple diodes placed on a surface in series
