Mars II LED now with Veg/Bloom switches

I grabbed a Mars II 900w a couple months ago, never liked the funky positioning of the brass fixtures. And like many, I thought the unit could have at least an on/off switch. Although their reflector series has Veg/Bloom switches, the Mars II units are heavier duty and use 5w Epistar LEDs, and use a nice finned aluminum heatsink with double ball bearing fans.

Mars Hydro appears to be listening.. I just opened my new 1200w unit and was pleased to discover Veg/Bloom switches. They also reposition the brass fixtures. Very nice Mars Hydro, you're making a very high quality product for the money. Keep it up Sara.. :)

When will you be adding this to the dumpster like many others who have used them and realised you pay for what you get? lol

Seeing that they make iphone clones and basically anything else electronic we could imagine, I don't think it will be long before we see Apache and A51 designs straight ripped off and copied.
I just wonder, who is this customer base that is groovy enough to be wanting an LED panel but not smart enough to do a google search on a product before they drop their cash?

There are some very good manufacturers in China but unfortunately there overshadowed by the scam artist copycat manufacturers that are out there to make a quick buck.

idk man, it's tough to get the real skinny on the blurple lights. so many newbs growing weed for the first time with them, so they don't even know that even their best show is still sub-par. they will argue with you to convince you the mars panels are good and say, "see look at my buds." but we all know that you can't 'see' density and that perspective is difficult to interpret sometimes.

So a fan base including vets at 420 magazine who are seeing results with their panels, those guys are all idiots then? I mean seriously, what's your claim, that a light costing three times as much will give what, two or three times the yield? What's the number?

I've seen some crusty fuckers here, how about chill for a minute before you go insulting and assuming? I respect those more experienced, but damn God Complex much?

If this was meant for me, No I do not have a god complex and not saying the more expensive unit is going to give 2-3 times the yield but I bet with a good DIY COB build you get much better yield. I will not give any numbers as I have not run any mars products but just seems there are more negatives then positives when I read anything on here. As far as 420 magazine I'm sure they ban you if you talk shit about mars lol

You bought a fixture that is about as as efficient as CFL's. Nothing wrong with that, but its always down to the numbers, and did you ever spend that amount of money on CFL's for the wattage?

Im betting not....

quality diodes have quality output, those with questionable diodes have questionable output.

YES 420 is loaded with the clueless. Members are forbidden to post grows using lights from vendors who are not advertisers.

420 has ZERO credibility in the led discussion/review/understanding light game ZERO. Howver my first light was a mars 900. I grew some very satisfactory flowers with it. My second light was an optic 360. I grew the killah with it. My current light is a diy hybrid...in progress.

Hey, easy on the blurples! lol
Honestly I am not so sure that those spectrums should be ditched just yet. It looks like some of them are doing a knock out job in the cup.
Personally I think that is the only hope for led to make a true wattage cut from HID and produce similar results

420 does seem to have a bunch cheerleaders, no question. I'd love to see a side by side where a more expensive unit gives a proportionally higher yield. Double the price should give at least double the yield? Seems fair.

Nobody said it won't work, just that there are shit parts in it and that it perform as well as a hid, but with a better spread and the possibility to organise rave party in your growbox (which could bring a bunch of $$ on Saturday night...)

Ask @REALSTYLES he must know the yield differences between mars and cxb...for real!
