Mars 300 indoor Fall grow

I didnt really know what to name this journal. So that'll do. I finished a CFL grow mid Sept at 63 days. You can look over it if you please. Idk how to link it or care to. I got almost 2 oz. I had many plants but cut it down to 3 that finished. This time around i had a 1800 watt Led, a no name generic but it broke already .

I'll be using a Mars 300. It was on Amazon hot deals for $70 the other day so...

Also using Earth Juice this grow. I enjoy Fox Farms. I'll probably go with Happy Frog but not their nutes.

I used paper towel method for germ. I planted my 12 seeds in red solo cups today. I have a 2x2x4 tent with fan and filter.

I have them under 24 hours light with a 35 watt Led atm. I was out off plastic wrap so i used ziploc bag over my cups for the humidity.

I got 12 of 12 on germ. 4 different strains.

I don't expect them all to make it to flower. I've seen a few logs using this light with great results, growing a few plants

10 of twelve have broken the soil. I water every other day. Fan is blowing cool air. Temps around 75. If those 2 don't last I'll replace them with 2 random seeds. Going with 2 gallon Smart Pots. I only bought a 5 pack of pots. I may get one gallons and do a sea of green setup. I'll see after I sex at week 4 of veg. I enjoy not having a definitive plan. I let the plants guide me.

Side note, my pumpkins I planted outside are ready. I love gardening.

I'm down 2 it seems. I am gonna plant 2 seeds straight in these cups with no germ techniques. I don't usually germ in that way but I wanna sprouting ASAP. So I'll plant 2 seeds from my last grow. They are kinda a mystery cuz I'm not sure which plant the seeds are from, nor who pollinated who. So let's rolls these dice.

Watering every other day. Fan dries out the top soil pretty good. I love this process. I bought an 8th the other day of some kinda haze. Let me tell you, herb just smokes and taste better when you've grown it yourself.

I added 0.2ml of Mammoth P to my last watering. It burned a few but just their cotty leaves. I wanna get my microbes popping this round cuz I'm gonna keep this soil for the next round to see how no till will work for me.

My 2 secret seeds didn't germ. So I tossed the dirt. It bugs me but the remaining will do. I just like yo play the odds on ones that survive and females. I know usually half won't make it.

DOWN TO TEN

So I've been watering every other day. This past week I added Mammoth P again and low dose Full On with my waterings. I haven't checked pH yet but I know my water is 6.8 so I'll wait another week. My temps have been steady at 77-78 and RH about mid 40s. I haven't done a ppm check since I just started adding things.

I'm looking for a drying mat. Kinda like a bathroom rug or mat for drying dishes. I don't like wet tent. I use the round drain tray but I hate these things.

I've been trying out the app "Grow Journal" for android. It has a strange UI for my taste. It does let you log solid details. I usually only test pH or ppm once a month or if I have a problem I cannot diagnose. I'll keep using it the full grow along with Grow Wise.

Fed today as follows (all my feedings are per gallon)

0.1ml Mammoth P
1ml Full On
3ml 3% Peroxide

Looking good, but be sure not to "over love" them. Alot of plants for a 2x2 and as of right now it looks like a bunch will make it to flower so be ready to sacrifice a few. Curious to see what that cheap led will do.

My growth has seem to have slowed in the last week. Idk what I did. I started nutes this week tho. I'm hoping even with the slow growth that the roots have been exploding. One can hope right. My vent flap closed. I guess there was a windy day and I keep my room's windows open. There's a window right next to my grow tent. I thought the Velcro was stronger than that. Even with the vent flaps closed, I should have more/better growth. I'm entering week three of veg. I don't. I don't count the first 5 day as veg but more as seedling phase. Any who...

I've add Earth Juice Catalyst and EJ Grow. I also bought some EJ soil minerals. I have this sample of HB-101. I've never heard of it and its listed as organic. Its says foliar but I'll spray a bit on my top soil next feeding alone to see if theres any happening. I'm on 3rd node of growth with most of my babies. I'll wait a week before I top and feed foliar.

There isn't much growth to report but also not much stretch. I had slow veg growth last round. I'm not phased by it tho. They are green and when I tug on them, they don't budge. So I'll accept what I'm given.

I had bought 5 Smart Pots. All 2 gallon. But since I have 10 that might make it, although one plant looks shakey, I need smaller pots. So I ordered 10 one gallon smart pots. Got a nice deal from Amazon. $22 shipped for 10 pots. I was happy.

My growth has continued. Its not vigorous but process is process. I was worried the EJ would burn them but it didn't last week so I upped the dose. I also added more Mammoth P this week. I wanted these done by top of the year but that may be off by a few weeks now. No worries.

I'll transplant this week and top next week. To reduce the stress I'll add 1ml of some kinda seaweed stuff. Ive been using it for stress for a few grows. I have some Kelp Me Kelp You by FFs leftover. That may be my go to. I have my 1 gallons ready to fill with Royal Gold, perlite, and some coco.

My stalks are still thin and stringy but I'm sure I have some decent roots, well I hope. I have Mycofusion for transplanting. I'll dust the root ball and the hole before transplant. Then water with the Kelp Me and some dirt additives from Earth Juice. I dont remember their name but I'll post it with pics after pot swap.

TiTill we mneet again fellow growers

Day after a crazy voting day, not the presidential part, the cannabis voting. I am relaxing on my off day. Went out grabbed some Starbucks and a Cronut, now enjoying a fresh J.

Before I left, I transplanted my babies. I had 10 fabric pots ready to go. 16 quarts of Black Gold organic potting soil, a third of a brick of coir (about 250g, which was left to soak the previous day), and about 15 cups of Perlite. I also had a 3rd of a bag left of organic soil from a local nursery. I watered my plants pre-transplant so they would slide out easier. I used 1ml/gal Fox Farms Kelp Me Kelp You to ease the stress on my plants. I read awile back seaweed helps. I also water post transplant but I'll post that in my day's feeding.

While mixing the soil, it looked as if I wouldn't have enough soil, that's the reason i added the other 3rd of a bag. There ended up being only enough soil for 8 pots. I didn't notice till I was 4 pots in. So the first few pots are filled to the brim while the rest are about 3/4ths to stretch that soil to 9 pots. I dislike this very much but I'll fill them in with my soil as the grow goes along.

Here are the things added to the soil during pot swap

1tsp Mycofusion dusted in the hole and on rootball, per plant
2tbsp Earth Juice Rainbow Mix PROTMGrow
2tbsp Earth Juice Rainbow Mix PROTMBloom
1tbsp Earth Juice Microblast (was a free sample from a booth, soil addictive version)

The bloom portion was added only to the bottom 5th of the pots.

As I had predicted, my roots was lush. Started to wrap around the bottom of my solo cups. No real mess was made. All 9 slide right out after a few bottom taps.

Replaced my daisy chain with a better one. The one I was using connected to all four corners of my LED but hung by one hook, dead center but under my duct. So I bought single hooks that I connected to the top corners of my tent. Much easier to raise and lower.

I had my tenth plant, which was a Bender variety, still stuck in her red solo cup. So I'll keep it for now in case its a female and a spot, from a male most likely, opens up.

Feeding after transplant:

0.2ml Mammoth P
1ml Earth Juice Catalyst

Temp 82, RH 41% (prefeeding)

I'll test pH next feeding/watering, which will be 3-4 days apart now. I go water, water next 2.

2-3 days for them all

So after 2 solid waterings and a bit of lower leaf discoloration, my growth has taken off. I checked my ppm and pH. Both in good spots. Temps were up but only for a few hours once this week. I'm usually 76-84. A bit high but only at night when the heat is on. They do alright. Fan is always blowing and exhaust is always on.

They started to stink as of yesterday. I could only smell it though when I did my daily check. I bought another bag of Black Gold to transplant my last one and fill in the pots more. The one that was left in its red cup was severely lacking growth and color. Droopy and to me, seemed lonely. Got hit with the same transplant routine and nutes as the others.

I had planned to top today but may wait another 3 days, if even at all. I'm having second thoughts. I'm really being lazy about any training or trimming. I'm not lazy or a lazy grower, I just never see increase in yield with topping or scrog. I'm looking at 6 females I think, from a height stand point.

Since adding a 10th pot, its packed in there. But they have room to breath. I want more runoff from my feedings. I dont have any trays or a drain mat that fits. So I worry about too much water on the tent floor. Its never much but still a hazard. And FYI, my fan is sitting on a jar to raise it up over the pot tops, so no worry.

I'm off today and Turkey Day. Rolled a Backwoods while I was walking my dogs in the woods this morning. I love that crisp cool fall air.

I topped today. One more week then flip I think. I watered on Monday. I would have fed tomorrow but my temps were high last night and the pots felt quite light.

My 10th is looking a little better but barely. It got hit with Kelp Me Kelp You on Monday instead of just water. I think it may be slowed from shock. I'll see a week after flip. If no good progress, I'll chuck the plant but keep the soil.

After topping I hit them with 1ml of Fox Farm Kelp Me Kelp You and 0.5ml of Mammoth P.

They were well drenched and let to drain/dry. I then dusted the tops with a pinch of MycoFusion and DE. The DE I use here and there throughout my grows. The myco on top was a tip from a friend for shock prevention. We'll see how it works.

I'm still eating leftovers. I had a turkey omelet this morn with jalapeños. Was so good. I've been watching college football all day. I did my last feeding before flip. They stink something nice. Since I have different strains going, the scents were all over the place. Pine, diesel, etc...

A few days post flip. I've been using just water past 2 times. I've found a few things going on. One looks like a calcium thing on 2 and a nitrogen thing one another. Its weird. All ten are in the same soil and get the same nutes. But the other 7 look good. I'll check a few days after this feeding. Throw in some Calmag if need be.

Not much 2 post other than that. 2 plants are much taller than the others. I hope that means its just those 2 males.

So my deficiencies continue. The yellowing has spread to more leaves on those 2 plants. I know that if I had a calcium thing happening on my one plant, if I cleared it up, the leaves won't repair. So I keep checking older photos to see if there is any progression on it. Another reason I recommend checking you plants at least every other day. I take about 10 pics every few day but I only post single group shots till closer to harvest.

So the Earth Juice Grow is only 2-1-1. So I'm thinking that may not be enough Nitrogen. So this watering I added Fox Farm Wholly Mackerel. Its 3-1-0. And a dash of that sweet Kelp Me Kelp You. I like Fox Farm's Bush Doctor line. I have a bit left from last round.

My tap water here is around 7. I never usually worry about pH. Since I still have discoloration, I check it more often. Usually my plant problems clear up in a few days. I never worry about yellowing or tips, etc, cuz I'm on the ball once I see it. No need to panic or blow my load out of frustration. Even out in nature, you'll fine problems.

My plants have started blooming. I see tiny hairs starting. I'm hoping to weed out the males in the 10-14 days, range. My temps are still peaking too high for my liking. Soon as I toss the males, I plan to add Earth Juice Primal Harvest, its a bat guano.

I found balls. I yanked 3 plants today. During my daily check, found 5 that were suspect but could only confirm 3 so far. Of course its not any of the ones that I'm having difficulties with. Ugh.

I want to go no-till and reuse my soil but I just tossed these male plants soils. Ive never used fabric pots before so I'm not sure how to clean them. They have residue and root particles all stuck on the insides.



I read, soak the pots in vinegar water then just wash them. I'll use some organic detergent. So I'll throw them in this weekend after I confirm all males.

That was the last of my McFly seeds. Lost River Seeds has new fall crosses so I'll restock soon. I like their mom and pop feel they give off. More personal service from Slimer and great quality seeds. I did miss out on their hoody promo.

I don't like posting so soon. I usually update on major events, problems, and feedings. Today was a double dose.

My calcium problem plant now shows signs of over watering. I water based on weight, every 3-4 days. Idk wtf is going on. Its drooping pretty good. 20 mins after feeding, it had perked up quite a bit but still droopy. I still, also, have major yellowing on 2 plants. The same two damn plants. Just the lower third of 2 plants. I have a few random yellow leaves but nothing like these certain 2. It's frustrating but the grow must go on.

I haven't seen any other males that I'm sure about. I have 2 more that are suspect. So I'm aiming at 4 or 5 plants. I'm going to lightly defoliate next week. Just some lowers and a few fans. Not much. I always like to think ahead on what to do next.

Biggest feeding yet. I may have over did it. I added a few extras due to the problems I'm having.
