mars 2 in flower

Very nice! It's good to see how the Mars II works. I've always thought it's a good value. Not the most efficient light, but for the money it's a good choice (compared to the rebranded Chinese imports that cost a fortune).

Have you ever tried UVB (reptile) lights during flower? They'll increase your trichome development (although one of your photos indicates you have pretty good development already).
You can get a clamp-on CFL holder and ReptiSun 10.0 UVB CFL. Run it about 8 hours a day in transition to flower, back it off to 5 hours 4th-6th week of flower, then minimal use after that. (You have to be careful running it too much in late flower. It can cause trics to turn amber too soon.).

Idk why people hate on these cheap led panels.yea its not the greatest panel but for the price I paid im very happy.only thing bad I can say is the penetration is kinda bad.I just have to top sooner.but overall im very happy I bought this panel.

Hey pgh, looking good in there :) Some insight on your question about cheap Chinese panels, I tested a couple of different Chinese panels. Ended up settling on the LG Chinese models and gave them a couple of rounds to produce bud. I documented the second grow in here under the LED section. It's not that they didn't produce nice looking and high quality bud, they did that Ok. But from experience I know what yield you can get from a single plant, my son grows with hps, my yard-stick was somewhere between what he produces and outdoor as I did that for many years. When I went indoor, I expected a drop and was taking a bit of a chance on LED's as I wanted efficiency and less heat.

In the end, I produced a decent quality bud, nice and sticky, good size for indoor/Chinese LED's. But the buds were fluffy/light, low density, and produced 1/2 if not a 1/3rd of what I would have produced from the same size bud with hps or outdoor.

So while the LG's can/do grow bud, higher quality panels consistently produce higher gpw or whatever measurement you want to measure up against. I've seen in here now what some of the higher end panels like A51, Apache, and DIY with COB's can do. There's more than enough examples in this site to see why they're recommended.

So be honest with yourself when you weigh the final dry yield and consider that you've just spent 3-4 months in time, and of course costs, then measure that against the final weight. But if there's something out there that can yield 2-3 times as much in the same amount of time and costs, would that not be worth it longer term? That and questionable warranty/support from China are what the higher end panel growers are really talking about when they trash the Chinese panels. Unfortunately some trash-talk is also from growers that have not tried them, or alternative panels/technology. Cheers and hope those buds are dense and heavy, they look great! :)

I deff understand.thats why I put I know they aint the best.yea I was just affraid to spend 500 $ or more for led.I did see 2 full grows with the mars and they did pretty dam good.im just a rookie grower this is only my 2nd grow maybe thats why this panel seems good cause im coming from full cfl grow.this panel 180w is kicking the 230w cfl grows ass.but I deff hear ya about better led panels.at, area51, hans.maybe one day ill buy a better name brand.my next grow plan is to use this mars 2 panel and 250w hps.4 plants 2 wwxbb and 2lemon kush.1 on each side of tent

Yeah, not a bad choice to get started if you're new, they never go to waste, I'm still using most of my LG's, just not for flowering. Cheers
