So I am trying to zero-in on a good breeder of the famous Malawi Gold. I've heard hermie -reports a few times, but don't know which seed co. was in question at the time. Can you splendid RIU magicians suggest some Good breeders who will almost certainly be selling the original Malawi? Thanks :joint:

I've heard from people I trust that Equilibrium has been breeding with an exceptionally stellar cut of Malawi Gold, he has a whole new line of crosses from it. However he is a local breeder here, so I'm not sure how widely available the seeds are, but if you're near the bay area you can get them at several dispensaries. http://www.equilibriumgenetics.com/seeds.html
Thanks Ace, but I'm all the way on the E.C bro, I was hoping for a mail-order connection. I know Ace-Seeds has a Malawi, and they are Good Breeders (from what I hear), so that is always an option. I was wondering about any other obscure breeders who may be kicking-out a Great Product. Thanks, Ace

OLD MOTHER SATIVA

doc gt had from original malawi in 1999
i got it…it will take over the room
you better know that this one is not like the fatter budded malawi's which are not malawi

i still have it from a repro
doc was ahead of his time..no one wanted pure sativa's much

clones off it flowered a month earlier than the i guess 14 weeks or so it took
do not remember any hermi's but lets be reasonable
all long flower sativa's have a propensity to create intersex pods
hazes, this, viets, africans, the whole deal

the high was dark earthy electric..11 out of 10[joke]
but you gotta grow it well

everytime, it would literally knock me off my feet and i would have to lie down for 15 minutes with my head buzzing
then i could get back up and be very high for three hours or so
doc has none..while on a euro breeding sharing site i believe i gave it to
somebody who now has a notable sativa seed company

the buds were comprised of many fronds that when dried formed a braided bud..thats as fat as they got

i remember one cali guy talking about growing it and how the leaves almostdried black and the first 20 minutes
he had trouble seeing..possibly like me having to lie down or fall down

so do you want it now..again..if the end product even remotely resembles your indica's…then it is not malawi

i have a chemo malawi female growing right now that was made in 2000 [i think]

that is how and when i first met doc greenthumb

it was long ago
he had gone to great risk and lengths to get these beans
i know all the youngsters think they have invented themselves
but many older people have done the work first
only to get slagged by the young pups[joke]
who never even tasted a sativa

my motto is

do not forget where you came from

all the best and go for it

Bodhi is awesome by all accounts bro! I was just "scopin" for some info on that infamous Malawi & That ss x Malawi Gold sounds interesting, I'll have a closer look :-). In reality, I have over 300 seeds of Midnight Nectar : (Afghani x Durga Mata II) that I have to run over the next decade, lol- ( can only run like 10 plants at a time). I wonder how long seeds will actually stay viable....?

I've only seen that strain by Malberry at Hemp Depot. I know nothing about it, though.
Yeah cat, I was just looking at that very one. Also saw Dr. Atomic - Thai Lights, which looks Very Interesting, so much so, that I may go with this one instead of the Malawi.

Just found another source of Malawi in the form of African Buzz by Seedsman, It's (According to them) Malawi Gold x Malawi Gold, with the mother selected for a cerebral buzz pheno and the father selected for rapid growth. I just got sent one as a freebie from Midweek Song which is how I became aware of it haha, and I'm pretty sure they do mail order.

If hermie is a no-go for you, I would avoid pure sativas. Chances are likely you will see a hermie. Especially if you get a pheno that runs 20+ weeks.

I recently picked up a 10 pack of these. Popped 2 for my most recent batch. One male and one female so far, the female is budding up the way I expect. The male is very short, going to collect pollen from it.

No I don't but I will take pictures at some point today after the easter festivities and post them. The male is under 1 single 20w CFL so there has been virtually no growth the past week or so, but I only want the pollen. Female is doing really nice so far.

that samoli taxi ride sounds like an interesting malawi hybrid. id fuck with ace, searching thru landrace shit your bound to find herms. id run these a few times for them to acclimate n stabilize somewhat. zamaldelicas fems were from malawi pollen i think. but you must have space and patience to run thru thses.
