I go by volume and go about 2-2.5 parts mix for every part of oil. To get a measure on the oil, I melt it and then 1 ml of ethanol in to liquify it. Then I suck it up into a syringe to get a measure. If 3 ml, then I know there is 2 ml of oil.
I add it into a dropper bottle and put back on the coffee warmer. I take another identical bottle and put 2 ml (how ever much oil) of water into it. When the one with the oil hits the same level, I know the ethanol is gone....

Mixing on a scale is much easier. And so everyone knows, 1ml is really close to 1g. Close enough that you can use the measurements interchangeably without much margin of error. if you took 1g of bho and mixed it with 2ml of liquid and weighed it, it would be almost exactly 3g.

Fuck no, if I am purging out residues of butane, droplets or a quarter cap or less to get butane or propane out of a gram or 5 grams. I just add it to the extract to improve yield and taste, the smoothness and high are all improved from like a half a cap of ethanol to an oz extract. It is darker, but w more cannabinoids.

So you can make oil with propane? Me and a friend were talking about it because its so much cheaper and less of a solvent than butane so we wouldn't have to worry about any carbon material being resolved by the butane. But its still enough of a solvent to filter all the tch and terpines through it to make oil. I have a few questions about it still.

Does the oil made with propane taste bad? And is there any place I can pick up odorless propane? Was thinking about using propane but was worried the odor would ruin the taste completely. Any ideas/suggestions?

Propane is very close to odorless, which is why they sometimes add ethyl mercaptan to be able to detect leaks.
If you use propane without mercaptans added, it makes a prime extraction.
We were also able to remove the mercaptans from some barbeque propane, using VICI Metronics filters, but the cost of the filters makes it unattractive.

How odd, regular bbq propane, ethanol, and co2 has people noting taste was good. Bulky yields, I hate sending through vacuum filter funnel because at that low temp you dewax. When I scraped the wax out the funnel, that shit had lots of top note and was full melt. I cant say if it was as stoney as the oil, but the taste was

Hey graywolf, when I reviewed your schematic for co2 use w the dewar, your concept was very inspiring as I not know of Microbulk and Bulk options that exist and it makes more sense to use a high pressure pump liquid air driven geared 60:1, and a large volume air compressor to pump it as a scf or subcritical liquid then back to the bpr valve to be closed loop recirculating high vapor pressure back in the vessel.

Eco green industries sells clean propane. Acetone is a okay solvent to use if removed from final product
