Making seeds...building a seed supply

My seed order arrived. I have some feminized Afghani, Fast & Vast, and White Widow seeds. All are autoflower. I have some others with the order that are regular flowering non fem.

My question is should I get a male in this bunch, save him, pollinate the lower branches of the girls, would the seeds be viable and good quality? I did this years ago but never got a chance to use the seeds in time.

My suggestion, not to pollinate fem autos because the genetics are already fucked with. Best bet, buy some fem seeds, i suggest a cheese strain because cheesin is what youll be doing:) anyways, pop your beans, one female and all your ? Seeds. Make sure you have a place to breed seperat or far away from you sensi crop. When you have veged them 3 weeks throw them right into flower, i make the 1 gal to 3 gal transition. Also keep a clone or two of the fem and make a mother plant for future fem clones to breed with. W3 chop any excess males. Let them do thier thing. You can tell when the seed is ready to harvest when its brown and petruding from the bud itself. This is usually around w8-9 of flower.

chop dry collect and then round 2. Remember that mother plant over there thats been vegging for 2 months, welp, takes as many female clones as you want. Pop more beans, find desired characteristics in growth size nodes ect. Veg. Take clones of each one you throw in. W3 remove your excess males toss matching clones(labeling helps lol). Pray for a hermie by natural selction. Keep that clone and any female clones. Your first two batches of seeds are okay starting grounds but now.
round 3. Your herm and one female close enough to pollinate the female all over again. That female will produce some good mostly female genetics. This being your best batch of seeds. Sometimes herms do not transfer onto clones though so this can be done by making the flower light cycle 12 on 5off 1 on 5offfor the first two weeks. Some people use ga3 or gibberilic acid 3 to force female plants to produce male parts with female chromosomes. Hope this helps.

I guess i didnt answer your question though. Sorry im high, but every seed is different, i try not to discriminate. If it grows grow it but most definitely Breed it!!

A lot of people breed with fems. Mixing regular and auto will give you random results, some seeds will likely be auto, some regular, and some semi-auto. Would leave you guessing how to grow each seed.

Do feminized seeds ever come out male? If so what would happen if I bred only fem autos?

Fem seeds turn out male occasionally, if you bred only fem autos that produced multisex characteristics then eventually you would get exclusively hermaphrodite seed stock.

99% of good fem seeds are fem from what I hear... I really don't trust the breeder. I would just make my own and that way I know it's pretty solid. If you bred only fem autos you would get get fem seeds. If anything you'll need to watch for herms

I would only use the first batch of seeds then start over. But if done right that batch should last you a very log time. Maybe get old before you get a chance to use them all

Nomofatum has it down, you want males because random selection gives you the best genetics the natural way. Fem seeds are nice though.

Thanks for the advice!
I have some regular (photo non-Fem) seeds too. I'm hoping to get a male and make some seeds.

How far away do I need to keep the male?
My plan would be to keep him in my RV which resides away from the house and down wind. ;)
I'll have some girls on the other side of the house well away from the RV.
Will that work as long as I'm sanitary when dealing with them all?

The male is not that big of a problem...if you watch it you can pull him out right b4 he pops and place the pollen sack in a jar open them up yourself....another thing is placing a bag over the plant...he will grow with little to no light
