Making dabs / shatter with hair straighteners

yo !

Can anyone tell me if I can make dabs or shatter out of Just my sugar leaf .

I have an ounce of dry sugar leaf all ground down like kief .

Can I make dabs out of this using the paper and hair straightener method ?

If so please could someone advise me on roughly how much shatter I will make and everything I will need to make this ?

Eg. The type of paper I need temperature of hair straighteners ?

Thanks !

Wax paper stick kief in between paper put that into hair straightener hold until melted dab it up. No idea how much you will get

I'd do a QWISO , make a tincture, or blast. I don't think you'll get very far using sugar leaf that is ground up to make rosin with the hair straightener method.
If you do use the straightener tech please use parchment paper, not wax paper. You're going to have a lot of plant matter in your rosin, in fact, mate, I don't see how this will work without a large rosin press used with filter paper. There's loads of tutorials on YouTube. Good luck, mate.

For rosin with fine material use a coffee filter made into a pouch. The oil will squeeze thru mostly, then you can pull the puck of junk out after 2-3 presses and press just the filter to get the rest out. If the herb doesn't stick together with finger pressure it's too dry, you need to put it in a jar with a wet cottonball or the like (try not to have it touching the material). I put mine on the cablebox to warm it slightly, speeding condensation.

For temp I would aim for 250-300 squeezing by hand or with a clamp/vise, down to 200f if you have lots of pressure (10ton+)

And yes, you want quillion-free parchment paper, standard Reynold's or WalMart brand is typically just fine.

Much more knowledge than I on that one.

Yeah I've watched some tutorials think I'm going to get a 150 micron silk screen and filter the kief through that so that only the trichomes
get through and no other plant matter gets through straight onto my grease proof paper and then use the hair straightener method to produce my dabs ... Does this method work best with frozen plant matter or just dried ? Thanks for all replies !! Peace !!

For keif use a 25 micron screen or rosin baggies. But you ground up trim, meaning you have alot of plant material.vs keif

Yeah I've got a lot of sugar leaf trim ... I've dried it and going to freeze it . I have a 90T silk screen that I was going to use to get the kief but I've had a look at the screen and you can barely see through it it's hard to see how the kief will actually get through the screen it's like the holes are microscopic ... Does this seem right to you ? I would just try it out but I don't want to waste any trim ...

Peace!

The screen is there to catch particulates and only allow the rosin to flow thru. You have A LOT of plant material vs keif. Imo, your yeilds will greatly suffer from this.

The plant material is full of Keif .. Do you make the rosin using a silk screen ? I no the process now but does you're screen seem like there are no holes in it ? the screen I have just looks like there isn't enough room for the trichomes to fall through its like the holes in the screen are microscopic .. Does this seem right to you ? I'm wondering if I've brought the wrong silk screen I expected the holes in the screen to be similar to the mesh in bottom of a grinder ?
