Making BHO from hash, need help with purging q's

Hey guys, so i have around 50g of hash, its a nice blonde color when ground up, only problem is it doesnt give me the body stone i would like, so i have decided to use about 20g to make some BHO.
I understand the whole process of running butane through it, not packing too tight etc
What i dont fully understand is the purging step, i understand that removing trapped butane in good for a few reasons, but i get confused when people start throwing around different names
Is the difference between wax-shatter-bho-budder just how they were made? and does this give them different textures?
Im going to bite the bullet and buy a glass extractor tube. and was just planning on purging by placing the pyrex dish in a water bath of boiling water from the kettle after running the oil, to my understanding thc doesnt vaporise till around over 150 degrees Celsius. (the pyrex dish will be pre heated before i run the oil) i hear this helps a bit with the butane evap.

So my main question is, is this method good enough to purge the majority of the tane, i hear you dont need to use as much when running a hash extraction, as i dont have any sort of special equipment
As this is my first time making it, any help would be greatly appreciated

I have never run BHO but make ISO, RSO, etc. I am a bit baffled by using hash as the "extraction" is already done. What you may be looking to do is winterize it to clean it up - dissolve it in everclear, put in the freezer a few days, filter, and evaporate out the everclear.

Purging it basically putting it in something under a little heat (like on a coffee cup warmer) and letting all the bubbles go away which is the last of the solvent leaving (as I understand it).

Yes, I do believe that the differences in products has to do with the process used. There is the vacuum stuff people do as well but I ignorant on that.

It's not a vastly different extract... Bho is purged the same way no matter what the starting material was.
With kief or hash, your going to waste a lot if u try to blast it. I already run kief along with my buds, it would be best to just do a thermos soak on your kief, if u need an explanation of the thermos soak method just ask.
Also if your kief is high quality you should get about a 40-50% yield of a darker amber colored extract that typically takes very little effort to turn into shatter.

If the body stone is lacking, it's either a heavy sativa or early harvest imo.

I've made very good crumble wax using the hot water bath, however a vacuum purge will always be superior imo.

I never let the oil itself go above 118f. It takes time, patience and a bit of practice. Larger than 1 ounce of bho and it's complicated.

No this is incorrect, yes you have a hot water bath for the initial purge but you need to vacuum purge it... we use to not do this until we found out how much butane is actually trap in the oil.. i mean its not going to kill you but when it sizzles its not good...the vacuum pump is how you get shatter... lol we use to do all kinds of dumb shit like throw a bunch of kief on it while its boiling off.. yeah it turns into cyrstals but probably not healthy. .. here is some of my pics

What he said wasn't incorrect, you don't NEED vacuum to purge your wax, the vacuum speeds things along and makes the whole process quicker, but the same product can be made to be the same consistency, taste and color with low heat and a thin film.
Also what setup were you talking about when u were talking about your other thread?
Edit: Never mind, nice vac setup
