Lux at the canopy?

hi, new/old member here.

Im running (4) 5500K 55watt CFL's right now in veg for a few plants and i read/heard somewhere that what mattered for light was how many LUX that canopy is getting and that it should be at LEAST 20,000 LUX.

Is this true?

I just checked with a phone app and im getting 23,000 LUX right at the top of my plants.

Is that enough for veg and or flower?

thanks!

it will do for veg and it will do for flower but double or triple that for flower is better. I use LUX as well as a gauge , yes it isn't correct but yes the phone free app and it is really apples to apples when measuring your own light. I am for sub 70,000 at the hot spot. I might be a little hot and this is with a hotter room and added CO2
