Low Watts = High Yield!

Here is my last setup and grow for one plant. CFL City...

Grown only with water and soil... No added nutes what so ever. I vegged for one month, then flowered for 60 days. Turned out great!
That's exactly what I'm trying to do. Until summer when I work more and get some more cash to buy better equipment. Loving the crystal's on that last bud. Looks nice! Happy smoking :bigjoint:

Here's my first flowering attempt. It's a white widow at about five weeks. I stunted it somehow so I'll be happy to get a dried 8th off of it. I've got 4x26w 2700k bulbs on it. I just added the fourth a few days ago. I'm using Hydroplex for my bloom nutes. The soil in the cup is ocean forest and the soil in the pot in MG seed starting.

I'd say the stunting was due to the pot size, but still, nice little plant :)

Keep em coming. getting a nice collection. For me, its time for a bowl.

Thanks. :)

I was thinking it might have been the party cup but I may have underwatered and or under nuted it because some of the bigger fan leaves were already turning yellow by week two. That's why I did the double potting into MG seed starting mix (5-1-5) and it's done a lot better since. I would've just transplanted it but I didn't want to stress it out.

Alright. Here's my ghetto set up that I did probably a week or so ago. I have an overhead lamp that hold 3 lights, all cfl's. Then the plant is ontop of a few book on top a chair up to the lights. And then there a white paper around the pot to reflect the light. Oh and the fan of course. And the room and everything looks really bright cause my flash, its actually pretty dark in there aside from where the plant is

Preps:Not looking bad at all mate, nice little ghetto setup. Far from A+ on the stealth side of things but if that aint a issue to you, then good work mate.

MrBlanco: I've had the same problems with my plants, yellowing leaves towards the bottom within the first week. I'm thinking its just a strain thing, although i haven't fed them any flowering nutrients yet, still on full strength vegging nutes. But yeh, remember for the next grow, POT SIZE MATTERS ;) It really does, mine stopped growing and then i changed the pot size, gave them around 1-2 days to recover, (i swear they didn't need it) and bang, they were flying up straight after that.

Fennimore: very nice mate! I'm sure people reading this will look at yours for insperation, (and the rest of ya). Good to see some people can still grow without nutrients and achieve a good result. Although in my opinion, why not just spend the extra 10 bucks and increase your yield even further? ;) I like the little wine bottle lamp holder aswell, bit of an arty approach to growing your green.

I'm going to snap some new ones later of my ghetto grow. Got some nice bud sites growing on it now, so will update them in a bit :)

But for now, i wanna see more! Anyone reading this, whos running a nice ghetto system, then show us. Would love to see some hydro systems running off CFL's.

Yeah stealth isn't an issue at the moment so Im alright but Im thinking about moving it into the little storage area in my attic but i gotta check temp's and think of a set up first before I do anything.

Quick question, I just bought a pack of 27k cfl's I believe they're the 18watt as it transfers over? Idk. The box said 75watt for their output. Should I just go return them and get the 100watt output instead? I'm thinking that would just be better, right?

And yeah dude, lets see those buds you got goin on

More watts will be better mate, just keep an eye (as im sure you do) on the kelvin rating :)
Also, maybe buy one of each and see how they do for heat and how close you can put them.

Yeh, those smaller ones might produce less wattage and be less powerful, but they could be able to get closer to the plants meaning you could put them inbetween plants, being more beneficial to the whole grow, rather then one individual plant. Read my Sig to see what i mean.

Its up to you really mate, more wattage could result in bigger plants, but at the same time they may mean you have to place the lights further away from the plants, penetrating the plant less.

As for my plants, got 6 going atm. 5 which are 2 weeks into flowering and 1 which is just a lil' clone. :) But i'll be sure to pop them on.

Im growwing ghetto Rubbermaid style started with 41w one 26w 2700k and one 15w 6500k, for the first 6weeks lol so its small and some issues along the way this bitches roots grow crazy fast might be because I only have bloom nutes but I had to transplant twice in the first 4 weeks, anyway I just upgraded to 3 26w 6500k bulbs and one 26w 2700k bulb so I have 104w going now I'm still in veg technically but I'm running 16/8 photo period for the next three weeks before I switch to 12/12 trying to play catch up really. the only thing I have had to pay for so far has been the 3 bulbs 3 Y split sockets and a thermometer/RH% gauge the rest I salvaged with exception of the Rubbermaid which was a donation from a friend, for circulation I have a 6'' fan from an air hockey table, and a 4'' fan from a old computer, the timer is one of those cheap shits heres a pic from a couple days ago and from the outside

Yeah I just finished reading your thread, not a bad idea. Is that how you have yours set up? And is it working nicely?

But, yeah I bought the 100 watt... 23 watt is guess it transfers too.. 65k cfl for vegging and I bought the pack of 27k cfl's for flowering. I just dont really know why I picked up the 75w/18w one instead of the 100w/23w. Ill just return them and get the 100watt ones.

Good plan preps, probs for the best :) Can't wait to see all the results from this. I expect all of you to post pictures as you go along :) And hopefully more and more people will join in. :) I dont mean day by day, but maybe week by week :)

So we can prove you dont need a HPS or a million CFL's to get results.

Btw,
