Low THC/High CBD for my parents - Canada?

Cannabis Genetics Canada has an IBL medical strain, high CBD, mid range THC, called "CGC Critical". It is hard to find but is available in regular seed form in Canada. True Med Patients truly love this stabilized strain. Unfortunately CGC is hard to track down and their seeds are only regionally available in Ontario, Canada and only available periodically.

stick with sativa strains.they have cbd and that weird 'cant tell if im stoned' feeling.mom will prob like those best.avoid indica for mom but dad might like it.
sativa
and you can harvest slightly early for milder impact.harvest time plays big role in end result.

Thanks guys. So does THC not affect us unless it's heated?
It's THC-A before being heated, which does not pass the blood/brain barrier, and therefor does not get you high.

Test it out. Pluck a bud from a plant, throw it in a smoothie and drink it up. Then, the following day, pluck a bud from the same plant, stick it in the oven at 250 for 20 minutes, grind it up and toss it in to a smoothie.

Report back with your findings. :-)

I can vouch for that test. I drink camomile tea before bed and throw a small bud in there. I don't drink it until I'm 15 minutes before crashing, otherwise I'm out like a light. Try this one, did this a couple of times when I got side-tracked with something else and wholly shit batman. Make a tea with a bud, let it steep for 10 minutes or so, squeeze the bud well. Let it sit for a few more minutes so it's cooled enough to drink it in one go, then down it and sit down, or is it sit down then down it ;) It takes effect within a minute and knocks you out, lights out, bam.

So what about the CDB? Is that still beneficial not heated? I thought it wasn't activated until even hotter temps than THC?
I never said THC-A isn't beneficial. I said it's not psychoactive.

Same applies for CBD. It is very beneficial both heated and not. I have a couple patients that I make a non-activated CBD coconut oil for, and the results are fantastic for both of them.

THC-A is psychoactive after it goes through decarboxylation and it changes into THC. The best strain that it sounds like they would need is something extremely low in THC if they don't want any bad side effects that some people encounter. I feel like harlequin and the 1:1 ratio thc to cbd plants will still get them very stoned and uncomfortable and is probably too high thc for them even at 10%. You would need a strain like charolettes web or R4. These strains have less then 1% thc and up to 21% CBD

A high CBD plant, with little to no THC (when decarbed) will absolutely get you stoned.

I have done it multiple times decarbing the R4 strain it doesn't get me high at all. I even throw a gram in the volcano vaporizer and I don't get stoned. I don't know how it would effect someone who doesn't vaporize/medicate all the time though.

Huh. I grew a cut of Canatonic (hp tonic) that was lab tested at 17%+ cbd and less than 1% thc and I got a good long buzz from it. Different than a typical weed buzz, but I was definitely high. There was nothing subtle about it

Probably the difference between decarbed extract which lacks terpenes vs fully terpinated.

CBD isn't psychoactive so maybe it was the small amount of thc you were feeling. Pure cbd doesn't make me and a lot of other patients I know high. It does have a lot of therapeutic properties though so its very medicinal. But not in a way that I can feel like thc.

Can an out of stater find R4 right now? I was in CO last June and was seeking out a bean or two (as their claimed numbers piqued my interest), and from what I encountered, Greenwerkz was out of both seed and cuttings. Are any co-ops/dispensaries in Colorado carrying it now? It'd be nice to see those genetics make it to WA state.

We offer these seeds as a medical selection for those interested in a seed line with plants high in THC and CBD (cannabidiol), one of the medical marvel compounds produced by the cannabis species. CBD is known to attenuate the THC high; you feel a clear mental relief from pain but don’t get that “THC Zombie” burned out feeling some pure-THC plants produce when taken in the larger doses medicinal users require. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid compound that has proven anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, anti-metastasis/ anti-proliferative/ anti-tumor properties.

What is different about this seed line is that it’s a mixed population of plants- allowing patients, depending on their responses, to choose from the approximately 50% of the higher-THC chemotype plants, or the 50% of plants considered “high-CBD” containing no less than 4% CBD (most of these in the 9-12% THC/ 9-12% CBD range). The flavor profile has been selected towards the sweeter high-myrcene spectrum, an accessible scent palate enjoyed by many smokers both experienced and new to the medical use of cannabis flowers. These plants are excellent for extracts or edibles, and the flowers have proven beneficial to medical patients across the county. Yield is well above average.

Indoor flowering 8 to 9 weeks

I don't buy Canadian genetics. Speaking as a Canadian we missed the boat, there was a point in time when we had the best genetics in the world. That's not the case anymore and hasn't been for about 10 years. Once Cali really got going with the med scene they stole the thunder.

If you want quality genetics get them out of the legal states in the USA where people can actually work on the lines a little more openly. Canada has turned to shit under the conservatives the black market is doing great but the medical, and progression of cannabis has pretty much stopped dead. There's a few that do it don't get me wrong, but you can most likely find better out of the USA where better cuts are easier to get for breeders to work with.

People are afraid to do anything up here. Shit it took the hydro store guy almost three years of me going in there before he would talk about his garden, I'm obviously in there to buy stuff for mine and he still doesn't feel safe, not how it used to be. The openness of folks up here is just gone, everyone is afraid of the mandatory minimums even if it looks like they aren't being enforced they are still scary as fuck.

Hopefully in a couple years the wheels will be moving again and Canada can become a great place for Cannabis again. I remember before the Cons got in I'd go to house parties and there would be fairly open grows going on or to a buddies house who would have plants in his closet. Now if folks grow they don't let people come by, it's like we've gone back 30-40 years. Fucked up times up here, hopefully they are over in 10 months or so :)

Sidenote I actually got criticized for voting liberal and when asked why I should have voted Cons. they couldn't think of an answer. Apparently attack adds do work.... sad my family is that stupid certainly never raised me to be.

Like I said there are a few that can do big things here. But the majority of the quality work is being done in the USA it seems, I'd rather get closer to the source.

He works with too much skunk, which is exactly what I am talking about. 90's shit, there's better out there now.
