Low IQ yet again linked to conservative ideas and racism

I see moderates having the most difficult time to get elected. To get through the dem primary you have to preach leftist, and to get through the pub primary you have to preach rightist.

We are still in a place in this country where a candidate's religion has to be vetted too, that doesn't help at all. Someday maybe....
And surprisingly, you can make it all the way to the GOP primary not believing in evolution...

It's like a contest to see who can kiss the most ass and be the most retarded at the same time.. (and not just at the GOP primary, either..)

Is that really surprising? Social conservatism is holding back our society.

Has their EVER been a president, dem or pub that hasn't had to praise God?

Your stamina is impressive!

Of course I'm an excellent driver.
you're not gonna brag about rawn pawl, evolution denier?

you run away from all your heroes, just like you left that rocket scientist hanging high and dry.

Nope, not yet unfortunately

Imagine if a career scientist or doctor became the president..

I remember reading something a while back stating all the presidents previous occupations, something like 75% were lawyers before they became president, another 10% military, and I forget what made up the rest, but fuckin' lawyers?..

I guess it makes sense, a good lawyer could argue his way to the presidency.. they could also throw away some convictions or unnecessary beliefs that get in the way

As long as the majority are concerned with sky fairies, a candidate will also have to front that they do too.

The greatest mind alive could run and get stomped by someone out Godding them.

I honestly don't care as long as it doesn't affect their decision making or policy, but it usually does. DOMA? I mean come on...

I think it'll be interesting to see if there's any kind of significant shift once these next couple generations get to be the majority of the voting demographic and the older traditional values sort of die out. People born after 1980ish aren't nearly as racist or close minded as younger generations, I'm not making any sort of jab at older generations, that's just how they grew up and how they were raised. My dad is 12 years older than my mom and there's already a pretty significant difference in their political ideologies, between me and my dad (30 year difference) they're completely different. I don't really know many people in my age group who are actually racist, maybe it's the bubble I live in on the west coast, but holding an opinion like that around here would just get you laughed at and not taken seriously. Younger conservatives are more concerned with fiscal responsibility it seems, things like that.

I think all the social aspects of society are tools politicians use to get people divided on party lines, and since it's old fucks who make up the government, some of their old views shine through automatically, and some of the younger conservatives are left with either agreeing with them and staying loyal to the party or opposing them and being attacked by the other party. Same thing with young liberal voters who might hold a conservative opinion.

Just really frustrating cycle of stupidity all around and everyone on TV telling people to think a certain way or believe a certain thing is responsible for perpetuating it, left and right.

Yep, we desperately need a 3rd or 4th party to emerge.

I honestly don't think religion will ever go away completely. It helps ease some serious pain over lost loved ones, keeps people in line regards to reward/punishment, excuses bad shit when it can't be explained.

I think a 3rd or 4th party is just as unlikely to happen as organized religion is to disappear, sadly

I really don't think anything is going to change til the country either gets so uncomfortable to live in or we go bankrupt like the Soviet Union. Either way we'll have a fully militarized national police force to contend with and the people currently building their bank accounts off the backs of Americans will be the ones they protect

It'll be a pretty cool movie to watch in about 30 years...

This post made me laugh and sad both.

Have you ever seen the mapped prediction from the Russian who predicted the US would break apart? He's off on his time period, but it will probably happen. (I'll look for it)

Unless of course we take over the world with our military. Hell, we even sent in the military to fight Ebola.

edit: found it
