I recently harvested my Low Girl auto plant for consumption after a dismal growing performance. Quite frankly, I wasn't impressed with this strain's genetics or the yield. It was advertized as 60 days from seed to harvest. My seedling was a laggard from the start and despite an optimun growing environment, she didn't grow much past 13 inches, was scrawny and produced maybe 3 grams of smokable product when I harvested at day 57.
Advanced seeds claimed it should harvest between 15 to 50 grams/plant. I think they are terminally stoned & fantasizing.
Smoke report. Buds were small but very unique smell. When breaking them up after 6 days of drying with minimal cure, I could best describe the smell as a combination of: a whiff of very fresh junipers, mixed with unripened raspberries and grapefruit with a strong lingerering undertone of umistakable diesel fuel mixed with traces of fresh black roofing tar. Very unique. No overly sweet or peppery/spicey noted.
Smoke Taste: Upon ignition, my tastebuds honed in to the juniper/diesel medley but I was taken with the smooth inhalation. Nothing harsh or overwhelming. Goes in as one stream of even flavour. The exhale taste and finish does leave you with a seductive hint of sweet black hashlike gum tar mixed with junipers.
High. Wasn't really expecting much based on the growing issues. I sure was surprised. Here is how I would describe the ride. Very fast liftoff from the first hit. Starts off feeling as a Sativa cerebral high is underway but then within 5 minutes your 5 senses get highjacked and you find yourself heading to Indicaville within your Sativa high state. This was a trippy/ mild LSDish weed experience. A nice balance between a Sativa high with euphoria, laughter and social functionality but it is combined with Indicaesque medium body stonage effects and mild acid like mind/auditory/visual spatial distortions. Nice ride!.. No need to board the space Shuttle. The transition back was very gradual with a seemless landing. Was very wired for about 2 hours, and then noticed I was slowly parachutting back down.
Nutes: Pretty standard growing. Under 400 HPS with first three weeks of high Nitrogen 14-5-38, Then weeks 4 onward I switched to 10-52-10 with very little Bud Candy added in. Never deviated from 6.0 PH. Low Girl was sensitive to Nutes. I never went over between 1.6-1.8 EC. Flushed the last 11 days till harvest.
Bag Appeal: Never saw a bag.. went from Mason jar to my lungs. Stretchy plant. Less than medium size main mini cola. Had Amber gold hues while curing - nothing worth mentionning visually. Ample popcorn size chute-buds and that was it.
Comments. I'm perpexed with this Low Girl experience. This plant could of won the 2010 Special Olympics Cannabis Cub in the "Most Successful Anorexic Contender" class with such a dismal yield. Overall, based on all of the different weed I smoke, I was impressed with how this underperforming scrawny plant passed the stonage test. Imagine if it had grown as expected from the start and did produce a 50 gram yield! I rate the Low Girl smoke experience as an 8.1/10. Despite the growing issues, I'm not dissing Low Girl due to the unique smoke experience. LGA does blend in the Lowrider genes with an (undisclosed) Indica parent. Fast Auto strains are relatively new and I remain optimistic that they can in essence still perform surprising results based on the smoke experience. I am hoping that my 1 plant grow and sickly seedling are uncommon. Sorry, I didn't provide any pics as I was debating to just cast her into the Bubble Hash leaf pile. Glad that I didn't! may try growing another LGA to see if it was a seed or strain problem. If anyone else has a smoke report on the LGA, it would be helpful to all of us contemplating any future seed purchase. That was my smoke report, hope you enjoyed.
