Lots of pistils turning red... What is going on?

I've got a plant that is 30 days into flowering, and a little over half the hairs have turned red. I understand that some strains do have red hairs, but I also know that about 2/3 red hairs means it's time to harvest. I ordered a handheld microscope to look at the trichs, but it won't arrive for a couple of days. So can someone tell me what is going on? 30 days seems way too short for it to be ready, and bud growth is minimal at best. I'll post pictures later this evening, but can someone please give some preliminary advice to a newb in need?

Did you spray your plant with anything stronger than pure water and get it on the pistils ? That's an urban myth about 2/3 red means close to harvest anyways, it's all in the trichomes and that's were you look only.

as a matter of fact, I sprayed it with a light, mild dish soap solution in order to fix a bug problem. So that can affect pistil color eh?

Oh yeah big time, doesn't hurt the plant any. I had the same thing happen with Safer's Soap.I figure it would be a good way to keep any hermi from seeding your babies, just keep burning the pistils off. I noticed my plants didn't smell after either so the pistils must be giving off all the aroma.
