Haven't used either yet, but I bit the bullet and bought the mag+ and it should be here soon.

Beef has a thread showing his results using the Pro-grow 180. For the price, you could buy 2 for the price of a 357 Mag light. My 2 cents

Yeah I'd wait for someone to come in with a better answer, if you do buy 2, one can be used vertically too I guess ie led gang bang.

these look promising. i'm sitting on the fence but mb not for much longer. there's uvb in the black dogs which is good. they're expensive which is not good. but they are waranteed for life which is really good.

The DR80 is 31.5" x 31.5"... there's lots of units that would work well for an area that big.

I've seen Excellent M357 grows, haven't seen many Apache....

Like posted above, take a look at the Pro Grows... for the price of a 357 Magnum (180 watts, $850) you could probably get more bang for your buck....

I've always wanted to try a Haight Solid state LED panel too.... it might very well be my next purchase! Have you seen the Solar flare LED? Been eyeing these too....

I have a Pro-Grow and I love it, apparently the bigger ones PG260+ have more flowering diodes too....

Basically, that's a ton of money to drop on 180 watts... not sure if I'd be willing or not.

I would say between the magnum and the apachetech, the magnum is the safer choice considering it's less expensive and has more documented successful grows. I am definitely interested in seeing someone do a journal with an apachetech model since I haven't seen one yet. I really like their design, they are definitely on my list of leds to keep an eye on. A lot of the other suggestions made are good ones and you really can't go wrong with any of them. I am also really interested in the blackdogs that were mentioned and the solarflare/solarstorm from californialightworks. I personally own leds from advancedled and I am happy with how they perform. If you had mentioned some other companies that no one has ever heard of, then I would make stronger suggestions but it seems like you know what to look for already if you're looking at what I consider to be worthy purchases.

I recommend 2 x Advanced Diamond Series 200 for DR80. I currently run 2 x DS300's in a DR90 tent. There are some completed journals out there although I am not sure about RIU (I don't frequent this place that often). But the best bang for your buck goes to Blackstar panels (something like 2 x BS240) and there are many completed journals with them as well. I am sorry I am not able to speak for either Apache or Magnum. I have zero experience w/ those panels but there has been some questionable marketing by the folks who market Magnum panels.

14g? Who got 14g?

I got 251g wet and 92g dry off one "The purps"....

Ave yield for "The purps" is 1.5-2.5 oz.... I think my 3.2oz was pretty decent... not to mention the weed is fucking killer.

gotta say you cant beat the pg-550 for the price, 470 watts actual draw of cree's for 820 definately picking one up after my haight solid state 800 works its magic. but i cant remember anyone being dissapointed by a magnum so prolly cant go wrong there

lol on the person that said airy small nugs! haha anyways, i would go with the magnums just for the fact that there are more ducumented successful grows with it. im personally looking at the magnum plus, but at the same time we should support local cali companies, apachie tech and haight or from here, not sure what there success is?
