Found these at Ace $1.50 ea. ($1.25 at walmart), you can plug them directly into a power strip and then use a Y-splitter to double output. Just look or ask for "Polarized socket adapters".

Best I've seen is a cheap bathroom vanity, has 3 fixtures. Home depot has them for $5 around here. Screw in 3 of those Y's and wire it up.

I'm no electrician brother, I'm just using them as side lighting, 4x 42watt daylight and have had no problems at all. Each of those adapters are rated for 660watts and my power strips are rated for 1750watts. It would be hard to overload them with cfl's, just don't go crazy with the Y-splitters lol..

I looked at those bathroom vanities as well, the max wattage is 180watts (or 3x 60watt bulbs), seems to me that the adapters would be safer..

Each of the sockets are rated at 660W, with a Y rated at 660w, by my math that means a total of 1980W. 6 26w CFL's are no where even close to being too much for that set up, especially if running Romex and properly grounding the circuit. JMHO

I have had some luck with $9 clip on lamps from Target. On some designs you can easily remove the reflector to better handle the 42w CFLs or leave it on for smaller bulbs. The big advantage to the clip on lamp is that you can position it really close to the plant and aim the bulb directly where you want on the plant.
