World of Seeds Afghan Kush and Jordan of the Islands Afghani are getting a strong look.

Homegrown Fantaseeds Afghani looks pretty good too. Anyone have any experience with their gear?

I'm really looking for a strong narcotic stone with this. Something to knock me out at night. I've always liked that piney/hashy/earthy smell and flavor. And my plan is to eventually try and add in some flavor using a Querkle male, but that's for another day and another search.
Yes I grew their Homegrown Fantasy ( White Widow x Afghani ) several years ago I loved it

Aurora Indica. Solid performer in my book.

Supposedly 90% Afgani and 10% NL.. (afgani x thai)

I'm not sure how they came up with that number. Something to do with backcrossing?..
Aurora is another I've been considering. It's one of the few I'm looking at that isn't pure afghani.

May just go with World of Seeds and Homegrown Fantaseeds. Take some time and run both and see what I like best. Then go on my querkle pheno hunt.

Well its one of the strains that I will revisit.. Back in the day I was just popping all kinds of seeds and its one of the strains that I wish I had kept a clone of her. One of the best body highs I've ever had.

As far as the querkle pheno hunt.. I could see Aurora having a recessive trait come out since it has Thai Genetics.
I guess it depends how stable the line is. Could you inbreed the line to pull out trait?

Just some thought, good luck on your pheno hunt.

I should also mention British Columbia Seed Co Afghani Dream is pretty spot on. It's an inbred F4. Only issue is it only comes femmed. Their Northern Lights #5 is spot on too. One of my favourite breeders BC Seed Co.

OK, perhaps i should look at some crosses to find the flavor and smell i'm looking for. I dont honestly know what the Afghani that i've had in the past really is, just take it for what ever the guy says it is. So maybe what i remember as afghani is not what an old school affie is. I do know i love hash and that hashy flavor. What i remember is a heavy funky musty smell, a little piney, kind of skunky and a little sweet. Flavor was good, kind of sweet but you could taste the funky/musty/skunkyness. Oh how i miss whatever that was..... heavy eyes almost immediately, heavy munchies, and no desire to move. huge cheshire cat smile plastered to my face.

Attitude has British Columbia Afghani Dream in regular, but i'm also intrigued by their Couchlock and Purple Lightning. I have limited space, so even though i don't mind growing out a bunch of beans to find what i'm looking for i dont want to waste a lot of time on strains that i end up less than 100% satisfied with.

As i've said one goal is to have a super funky musty afghan (maybe just afghan dom so i can have some improved flavor) mother to add to my lineup that is just a narcotic knock out (sleep help). The other goal is to (hopefully) find a really nice grapey male when i get some TGA Querkle (I'll also be looking for a keep a keeper Querkle female obviously). I want to use that male to cross into what ever afghan female i end up working with. I want to add some already musty grapeness to some already funky dank almost 100% indica.

I've had some really good plants out of the BCSC, their northern lights is as close to the original that I can find and their Big Blue is my favourite all time strain. I'd imagine their afghani would be top shelf.
Another good option for afghani is Mr Nice ortega, it's a crossnof 2 pure afghanis. You just have to watch for nanners is some pheno's!

did you get to try ministry of cannabis northern lights? i was lucky to get it before the ministry went full fem, & i crossed a nice gal with a top romulan male, its a great smoke & my fastest finisher, still looks like a typical NL just with the added boot & syrupy goodness of the rom

its a great cross, ive heard a fair bit of negative feedback about federation seedbank gear lately but the pack of romulan i got 6yrs ago was a classic, i crossed sour diesel x chemdawg with the original rom male as well as the NL, as well as f2ing it, its all good, the rom has such a raspberry syrupy funk, the rom x rom is a bit strange with some yrs throwing approx 30% herms then the next yr none?...unusual, but its a great cross, though the rom x NL is a very fast finisher, the ideal plant really
