Just wanted to say gidday and also give a bit of a description about a recent cannaholiday in Denver which was a great experience. Now, keep in mind I travelled from Sydney, Australia to get there so this was no small effort. Happy to report Denver did not disappoint. I do regret not being to visit the mountains for a ski but in all honesty it was a bit outside my budget.
Now, in case you are interested, here are some of the details. I booked accommodation through a pot tour company. They have a system whereby you don't find where / what hotel it is until you have paid so it was a bit of an adventure. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was the Holiday Inn (Stapleton)! On checkin I was given a rather large vape contraption at reception (will come back to this) and a bag of relevant advertising. No pot was included and as I arrived pretty late, had to bide my time until the next morning to get amongst the action. Note this is not a complaint just a description of what happened - I can handle a night without the weed and was first in line come the next morning at a fairly close dispensary.
I am partial to cannaholidays myself (or wellness retreats as I explain to my wife), usually embarking on 3 or 4 per year for therapeutic reasons (stress relief). But in Australia these are necessarily hampered by laws which prevent such a thing. Even medical use is still going to land you in strife in this country let alone for recreational use, so I am comfortable in labelling our laws "backwater". They won't throw the book but they are likely to confiscate your shit and give you a fine, definitely a buzz kill.
Anyway, I digress. The vape machine was something I had not seen before and required the youtube training provided to figure it out. Immediately the benefits became clear such as being permitted to use it in the hotel room. I didn't even have to bother stepping on the balcony which was freezing at the time, so I am definitely a convert to modern technology.
So without boring you on the details, to cut a long story short etc, etc, a great week was had doing dispensary tours and product evaluation. The main difference of course is that over here "bush weed" or "outdoor" is highly prevalent. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, just different.
One quick note on Gary's Rec room must however be had. Not sure if any of you locals get down there, but that place is an oasis. Gary is an absolute legend providing an absolutely unique public service for those who wish to have a smoke with some other people.
