Lollipop??????

When is the right time to lollipop? I attached pics of my plant. Its about in its 3rd week flowering. There are two really small branches that I would imagine could be cut off but would this slow the plants growth? And is it 2 late in the game? And is it pointless since I had like a partial LST training?

dude, i dont think youre supposed to lollipop once youre in flower.. any stress caused to the plant while flowering is not good. i was under the assumption that you are supposed to lollipop a week or so before flower, so the plant has time to recover.. i had the same problem in my last grow. . didnt go all out, but did remove quite a few lower branches once i was already flowering. . and to me, it does look like lollipopping would have been good because the bottom dont seem to be getting much light. . or topping the plant would have been another solution. . what kind of lights are you using?

so how did it turn out in your last grow that you topped during flower?

Yeah, you're too far along now; you have to do the first snip the first week, before you start getting bud, then you do it again two weeks later, before you start getting bud. You can't just do the second one.

lollipopping is the removal of all branches on the bottom 1/3rd of the plant.
its done at the end of week 1 and week 3 of flowering.
the reason for doing it is so you can pack as many as 4 plants per square foot and what you end up with is plants with 1 top cola and generally not a lot of other bud sites.
if you dont plant on packing plants in close in a SOG "sea of green" style then lollipopping is not for you

thanks for that. and u can use those branches for cloning right?
Honestly... I don't think it'd be worth the wait for it... it'd be confused I think from veg to flower, and then back to veg... but I could be totally wrong here... In just my own honest opinion... I'd keep a mother in rotation and keep clippings coming every 2wks rather than waiting for a cutting off a flowering plant 4wks... just me... good luck bro!

if you cut it before it goes into 12/12 its worth using them as clones yeah and maybe the ones from the end of week 1 bbut they will have to reveg and will be stunted so yeah like illusionz said its better to not use the cuts taken during flower as clones

when is the best situation to do this... more plants then light will grow out fully? if i wanted to grow a pound or so with a 600w light with 15-20 plants this would be a good idea so the girls have more room than 10 plants full of leaves? can you lolly a sog? what would the outcome be?

If you have one plant and/or plenty of space, do not lollipop. The purpose of this method is to remove branches that wouldn't get light when you pack plants close together SOG style. The bottom buds on paltema's plant are getting light. It is a very nice, healthy looking plant BTW. If you had more plants and they were bunched together, the lower branches would be in the shadows and the buds would be leafy and small. By removing them the plant can concentrate all growing energy on the top buds, where it will count. So I do it but I have a floor full of plants so close together that the pots touch. It also makes the plants much easier to water if you do so by hand.
