hello

i have to transfer n-butane from one tank to other before i use it ........i know i need to vaccum out the holding tank so it has no air in it

but how do i get the transfer line vacuumed out ...........if i just hook it on it will have a smal amount of oxygen in the line when i transfer it over

is there something i am missing ........if so please tell me

I highly recommend that you pre-distill the butane to remove the mystery oil, before using it to extract, so If you pull a vacuum on your cold trap or closed loop extractor with the hoses attached and the intervening valves open, but with the tank valve closed, the interconnecting hose is evacuated as well.

i know i need to tap a can or 2 of butane swish it around turn the can upside down and let it flow out ........repeat this 2 to 3 times ...clean the tank out of that oil (the one with the gas should of had it done as it was sold as 99.5% n-butane )

sweet thanks for that i was going to bleed the line like u do with breaks (was my biggest chance of going boom ) tightening it up ........never thought of your it does have 2 on the recovery

that is a active system

the vaccum pump for that run 700-1000 bucks for the anti boom one

i am doing the passive .....where the tane fallows the cold .........we want a active system to make it faster but the cost was to much at the start up (2 k for the start up anouther 1200 for me to get out there to do it...then i need the cash to buy the oz i process out taken out 4300 with me)

You can distill with a passive system. Use dry ice on the recovery, so as to keep the hot tank below 85F. Pentane comes over around 100F.

how long would that take to run ......i do not have 2 tanks the same size .....one is 25lbs other is 15lbs

i will look into it but i do not think i have the time to get the gear now .......i leave the 4th
i have only just started thinking about it (2 weeks of research and running what if experiments in my head before i change anything around)

thanks tho for helping me step up the game another notch and keeping from setting myself on fire again ( propain grill fire balled me no eyebrows for 4 months years before the beard grew out thank god )
