Limited on space! best light source for a 15.5" W x 19"d x 28" H space?

hey guys pretty limited on space here and Ill be doing a soil grow. Cab size is 15.5" W x 19"d x 28"H and i was wondering if it would be even worth trying to set up a 150w HPS in this size box or if i should just use cfls? I also was wondering if it would be worth growing a 6 plant SOG in 6" pots in this or doing a 1 plant SCROG? Im not trying to yield a lot but the more the better right? this is for personal use and i only smoke about an oz a month. this will be my 3rd grow (and the smallest) and was just trying to get some pointers.

Ill be using PC fans, diy carbon filter, diy cool tube (if needed), and a few other things i have written down. Any help would be very appreciated thanks a lot guys

have you looked into a small LED light? less clutter then a bunch of CFL's and alot less heat then a 150w HPS in there
6 plants in sog might be a little tight in there i'd imagine?

you dont have much height at all in that box, so you might need to watch out what strain you pick to grow and veg (maybe as little as possible depending on choice)it accordingly otherwise youll be over growing out of that little box
i am by no means an expert in growing so take anything i say with a grain of salt

no not really looking to use LEDs. either CFLs or HPS...but id much rather use the 150w HPS

well if you can control the heat then it shouldnt be a problem at all
youll just need to keep the plants nice and low

yea i was thinking about doing just a 1 plant scrog.....itd probably be a lot better than 6 small plants in a SOG. cuz your right the cab is pretty short

I had a cabinet with almost the same size. HPS wont work and I would highly suggest the scrog. 1 plant would work, 2 plants give you a little room for error in case something happens to one of them. Just make sure they are female plants by either getting fem seeds or clones.

Hey Iwantchipz. I have been making Grow boxes for 5 years now, and it comes down to to the same problems every time. heat, noise and smell.

I have switched from cfls to led ufos. They produce hardly any heat, most run quiet too And you can add some cfls to upen the watt and lumens. There not cheap tho.

I always scrog, not a fan of topping. I have good results. Always grow more then 1 in small spaces.

I have a 150w hps in a cabt that is 24" wide 36" tall 14 " deep i works out to 7.85 Cubic ft. with the light inside and my weak air flow it cooked the tops off all my girls. however I cut hole in the top of the cab and now all the balast heat is outside the cab, but this cab is inside a closet to no one really sees it,wouldnt work if It had to be hidden unless you build a cool tube setup, and some 440CFM inline fans. If I had the money I would have bought a UFO instead of the HPS.
