Like a Rock

My end goal is a once a year harvest of 5 lb.

I have been using 600w HPS for flower and T5 for seedlings and veg. I think it's obvious that this
gear will not reach my goal.

Currently I grow, smoke, grow, smoke and repeat the cycle whenever supplies get low just like most do.
Only I want to limit my grow to once per year.

I realize much is dependent on my skills so my question is "What is needed" not "How much will I get"
How much light, how many plants? 5 - 1000w lights would be more than I'm willing to splurge for or have room for.

What would be an efficient setup to accomplish this goal.

Thanks for helpful input.

If I'm lucky I may get about 1 ;)

But I'm chasing after 5 :weed:

Running a small perpetual set up would get you considerably more year round and would be easier to manage since your not trying to use 5000w light and having to remove all that heat.
Off the top of my head id say I do about 18lb a year with an 8x4 flower tent (1200w of cob and QBs) and a 4x4 veg tent (600mh in winter, 315cmh in summer) All I need is an two fans and two filters and I'm not tripping my breakers with that wattage.

Does it have to be one big harvest?

You should be able to pull 5lb from 4x 600w if you have to do it all in one crop. 4 plants per light, 8gal pots, 6-7 weeks veg. or double plant count and shave a couple of weeks of veg. If your after big gpw then scrog the shit out of them, which would suit your situation if your only looking for 1 harvest a year.

No it does not have to be all in 1 grow. I was thinking that I could get away with doing all the work in one grow and not have to duplicate efforts over and over.

You have pointed out an important factor I had not yet considered and that is overall power consumption. In order to make this happen I would need to upgrade my breaker panel and add more circuits. Which would add considerably to the start up cost.

I guess I'll just stick with what I have for now and be thankful for what I have.

Tortoise and the hare. I'll still get there.

It was a good idea but is cost prohibitive at this time.

Tell me more...please.
Sea of green?
Dwc, flood tables, rdwc.
How many plants?
Etc...
SOG, DTW coco coir ( except I only have run-off once a week). Veg 21-25 days with veg nute's at 450 ppm(0.9 ec). These nutrients used in veg.

For flower, I use 2 4x4's with 600 watts of hortilux HPS in each box. Between 8-12 plants in each box. Running these nutrients in flower @ 550 ppm (1.1ec). Flip/flop style, one light on days, one on at night.

I average between 25-30 O's each box of sellable buds and an O or 2 of larf for the hash pile.

You could run your light 24 hours if you had a dark room, move one "pod" of plants into the dark room and move the others out into the light, double your harvest for a tiny bit of work!
