Meaning those little blackouts where the lights go off and immediately come back on have to be accounted for.HPS or MH will not reignite that quickly at all. No idea on LED. CFL doesn't give a hoot.

I use Hps lighting my ballast seems to be good though cause the light came back on after 5 minutes with no problems. Thanks for the reply puts my mind at rest alittle

Yes they will after 5 minutes. A UPS is suggested if you get those bump blackouts though. It's the quick blackouts or brownout that causes them to not reignite.

If you're not running neon lights in a PC case, propane lanterns help in power outages.

Serious growers will have standby gas generators.

We were all discussing this before and someone mentioned a delay timer that can be got for HID lighting in the event of a flash power outage. Me...I don't worry so much. It's easier just to keep spare ballasts and stuff so when something does screw up it can be fixed right away.

If you are using a single light source maybe a few flouresent tubes skirting the grow might advert disaster in the event that something did go wrong with the HID.

I do have spares about 2/3 of them I was more worried about the plants getting 5 minutes darkness then lights back on for 2 hours. If I had it happen before with no problems. It's just whenever there 2/3 weeks into flowering its worries me despite the 6 years experience lol
