As soon as they pop out the soil yu can hit em wit as much light as yu can. Theyll only take wat they want. If the lights to close theyll burn or bleach but thats the same for any sized plant.

Cool your jets there, young Paduwan! A 1,000 watt HID is enough to light up an area of about 5 x 5 ft., just how many seedlings are you talking about? If you only have a few, a single 25 watt CFL (or two) should do nicely.

A 1,000 watt HID burns one Kilowatt Hour for every hour that it is on (that's a lot of money for a few seedlings!). On the other hand, it takes a 25 watt CFL 40 hours to use up a Kilowatt Hour. Do the math!

I realize that it's not my money, but man, that is just wasteful!

DO NOT RUN A 1000 WATT FOR SEEDLINGS!!!!!! LOLOOLOLO WAISTING POWER to be honest invest in a small 2x2 T5 florescent bulb 6000 k or above for seedlings... until their out of theyre solos . Running a 1000 you will be waitsting 90% of that light ! T5 for solo cups , 600w for veg and 1000 for flip to 12/12!
