Light rail mover

If I had a light/hood that had a 4' x 4' footprint for four plants and used a rail mover to cover a 4' x 6' area with six plants, would the yield be significantly more? I'm thinking of getting a Kind K5-XL750 LED grow light which covers a 4' x 4' area, but I'll have a 4' x 6' space to grow.

I would look into the Apache tech AT600 for your grow. It will cost a little more, but is the highest quality light for a 4'x4' footprint. The light mover will help, but I personally only have my mover move less than 2'. I use it to eliminate shade spots. The Kind unit is not square, so it will not give you a 4'x4' footprint.

I just looked at the dimensions are you're right, it's not square. I wonder why under the specs they list it as having a 4x4 footprint.

Holy shit, the Apache is double the price:o

From the research I've done the Kind is supposed to be one of the best out. I just started researching the LED lights so I'm still learning.

Has anyone used the Kind K5-XL750 LED grow light? If so, can you tell me if it does have the claimed 4x4 footprint?

I personally only have my mover move less than 2'.
If I use a light mover it would only be moving 2' to get light to the extra two plants. They will be getting some light from when the light is over the first four plants as well. I guess my question is, will using a mover provide enough usable light to all six plants in a 4x6 area, especially when there would be a delay when on the ends of the rail? Or would I get more (or equal) yield by having a stationary light over just four plants, if the Kind does in-fact cover a 4x4 area?

I'm seeing a lot of really good reviews on the 750 and the price is half what the Apache is. The Apache is just too far out of my budget.

just use a 1000w hps on a light rail and you should obtain more than 2lbs of medicine. I dont see the point of using a light rail with LED. The lights are very directional. Once the light moves, it will not illuminate the other plants. A HPS will still give light to these plants.

My original design was going to be two joined 600 watt hoods/lights, but after some research and budgeting I found I could get away from all the heat and accessories that come with HPS and get the same yield. I've done many HPS grows, but I'm trying to make things more simple in this new setup.

So it sounds like I should either have 4 plants in a 4x4 area with the 750, or add a second, smaller led for the other two plants. I'm just growing for me and I'll be setting up a RDWC UC system so harvests should be a little faster. I'll probably just stick with the 4x4. Maybe I'll upgrade the light to the 1000 though.

I've decided I'm going to go ahead and get the Kind K5-XL1000 for a 4x4 area with 4 buckets. I think that's a pretty good setup without breaking my wallet.

If anyone's been using this LED light, please give me your opinions. I'd love to hear them. Especially with the sunrise/sunset feature. I'm wondering if it really benefits the plants.

If i were to ever use a light mover again i'd buy a model with adjustable travel length & variable speed , my experiences with fixed speed full travel light rails was not good , using a 4 ft rail with a 1,000 watt hps stretched the hell outta my mother plants , the turn around time for the useable light was too long & the Indicas stretched where the nodes were 4-6 inches apart .

IMO adding lighting or reducing plant count is the best bet .
